Went to a swap yesterday and brought home 2 pair of buff Brahma bantams, 2 pair of old English bantams, and 2 trios of mottled Japanese bantam. I do love my chickens! Off to menards to get coop materials....

wow, time fly's! I have been working on getting back into chickens and rabbits. (the only thing I didn't sell was my sportsman incubator) thought I was doing good and was hit by a coon. took out over half of my chickens and 2 litters of baby rabbits. money is tight so every animal is extra special. we have taken out 3 raccoons and 2 opossums. (all but 1 coon was female) we have seen 1 other raccoon on the game cam a week ago, but he just looked around and hasn't been back. I had eggs in the incubator from birds that were killed and now raising them and hoping to have hatching eggs and chicks to sell next year. looks like hopefully this litter of bunnies will make it now that the coons have been taken care of. I have been trying to clear out the weeds that took over in the year+ I was on the road. didn't get a garden in this year, but I am hopeful for next year.

I will try to get pictures up as I figure this new computer out...

Hey, good to hear from you! :) Sorry to hear about losses though. I understand predators need to eat to, but sheesh, really?

Welcome back! Good luck keeping the predators away.

How are your pups doing? We're you able to find some barn cats?

caught another opossum last night.

our husky mix pups were stolen from the yard, and we had to rehome the rott he always growled at my grandson. so we found him an older gentleman without any young grandkids. we still get to see him once in a while.

we have 2 young pit bulls. but 1 is special needs. I picked beast out when he was 8 hours old. at 4 weeks I was informed that he had swimmer puppy syndrome. and all the other puppies were spoken for. so a few weeks later we found max who is a blue and white pit bull. then when beast was 12weeks old the breeder called and said he was up and walking if I wanted him just come and get him. so we did. I noticed right away that he walked and peed at the same time. but about a week later we noticed an odd curve in his spine. we took him to the vet and his ribs are deformed from the swimmer puppy syndrome, they cant stand so their ribs go out to the side instead of down like they should. and because of that he has a deviation in his spine. because of the deviation, he cant hold his urine or bowels. we tried belly bands but he wont leave them on. so the vet recommended he live outside as he is getting bigger and his pee is now rivers and lakes and it is ruining my hardwood floors. his back legs are starting to hurt and we don't know how long we will be able to keep him comfortable so he and max are in n outside pen for now (that we keep locked) he goes nuts when we bring max back in. time will only tell how long we have with him. I still have my little Chihuahua that we had ride on the truck with us.

I've never heard of swimmer puppy syndrome before, but it sounds awful :( Poor thing!
