You reckon I may have planted these sunflowers a little too thick and the 3' apart rows are a little to close together?

I think they look o.k. As long as they can all get root space and enough water and they certainly look happy! My sunflowers look so puny still. I guess I should've planted them earlier.

We got up to a light, but steady rain this morning! :)

Woo Hoo? My okra is starting to produce. I planted a different variety this year cuz that's the seeds I had. it's a little 'different' looking....lighter green, bumply and curved and I'm just not sure about it. I think it's Cows Horn Okra...anybody tried it?

Also got another picking of Red Rippers - these are the peas that keep on giving!

We're hitting triple digits for the next 3 or 4 days. Okra and peas shouldn't be too troubled by that - they are made for hot weather.

Awesome :) Glad yours is kicking it! my two rows of okra got a ways to go still yet. I have no idea what kind it is yet since my buddy from up the road gave me a xooffee can containing seeds from what he's been growing for many years. I guess that would make it surprise okra.

It's been raining on and off since Friday :) Started with soft rain, followed by a downpour, then short hard showers in-between sunny spells and softer rain today. The garden is singing and the weeds… are in heaven. Ugh. But I am so grateful for this water. As soon as I can I'm going to continue clearing the patch for the lawn expansion so I can get more grass seeds down. Hoping it's not too late in the season, but the drought really messed us around this year.

I'm seriously considering expanding my 60' x 100' summer garden into a 100' x 110' or 30.48 meters x 33.528 meters (for Sumi).

I'm loosing a lot of garden space due to the trench that runs trough the garden for water run off back into the creek that runs behind my garden. Plus I always wanted a 100x100 garden, so why not? I've got plenty of space to expand.

Thanks! :) That is a great space and your garden looks amazing. You have the space and the water to do it, so I'd x2 the go for it!
