My honey was adopted too. He doesn’t want any kids...any more kids I should say.

We don't know if we do, but I don't want to be pregnant again and we don't want another one in a timely enough fashion considering my age. I like the big age gap between DD1 and DD2 too.

I'm on the hunt for a few sheep. Sheep aren't any cheaper than goats, lol! I just want 2-3 little Shetlands. I've got hay for them even! DH did agree to my goat downsizing plan. He is going to be changing jobs, and working for his dad. It will require occasional travel, and we might want to go with him sometimes. I have farm sitters for feeding, but not milking.... think we'll take a break after all.

You know, you do NOT have to milk. The kids nurse and the goat/sheep/cow dries up when time. It's not a requirement to milk a dairy animal :D It's ok. You are good. You can have them and not milk -- don't feel guilty or that there is any failure. Just enjoy them. Kind of fun to watch the kids play and not feel you have to stress over weaning, separating, etc.
Yeah, I milk but, not all of them.

I chuckle because some say "why have them if not milking???" It's because we LIKE them. Sorta like spaying a dog for no pups and still keeping her. :) When I raised mini horses, yes I bred for sales. But there are animals here that were never bred and won't be. It's ok for me and them. :love

I hope you find a couple sheep like you want.

I am keeping Patty. She should be bred this year, she's been with Clifford for almost a month. I will keep a doeling (if she has one) but I probably won't breed unless I'm milking. But then I will have two does when I'm ready to milk again. And in the meantime, she is a sweetheart!

I would love to have an apple tree! We planted a pear tree, but it has yet to bloom or bear. :hit

I hear ya' on the babies. I had two, healthy, counted my blessings and got myself "fixed" LOL. We had the 3 grand daughters Friday night and Saturday, age 11,3 and 2. Madness, confusion, and lots of love.

I know how badly you wanted the Guernsey goats, really sorry that they are staying so wormy. :he

There is a lady on BYH that has the little babydoll sheep. Her name is Secuno, you might look her up. I don't know what she charges, but she might make you a deal.

Oh yes, I remember her and her sheep. We're pretty set on Shetlands though. There are plenty here, just tend to be a little pricey for quality ones. We'll find a few before winter I'm sure!

I am asking DH to get "fixed" lol. I can't use hormonal birth control, so I'm afraid of getting myself fixed. I've heard of people having issues with hormonal responses to that, and I don't want to mess with it!

The lone Cornish chick that my broody hen hatched out is totally a roo. Bummer!

:( Yeah, usually are....my last onsie was. Now have hen with two new chicks. Probably boys! It's like when a fox hits -- they like hens! Hard to win. So, there's a pot of chicken noodle soup working. :D
