Cabbage can take some cold but, good as they look, I'm with FEM. I wouldn't want to lose all that! A few stakes in the center & you could drape it and leave it if it was breathable fabric. If not, eat the leaves. :) Straw all around may be enough... unless you get HARD frost while still tender.

My garden -- only thing going on are some volunteer tomato plants from tomatoes given the chickens :idunno We all know those are toast pretty soon.

I love them!!!!
Count your blessings. Those are assassin bugs. They eat bad bugs eggs and they eat aphids. They are beneficial and an asset to your garden.

I had them in my garden in Livingston. When we moved, I didn't know if there were any here or not, so I caught some and moved them too. Turns out, they are native here too.

I got a little surprise when I went to look at what's left of my garden :) I gave up on the cauliflowers as the bugs ate them down to almost nothing when they were small. Three of them hung in there regardless and one grew and grew and…
