Seemed only fitting to have her with some garden sweet corn and green beans. My wife really liked the deer chops and I did too they are, fall off the bone tender.

Mmm I'm jealous of people who have a doe season. Buck only here. Had some roadkill doe though, amazing difference from the buckiness I'm used to! Looks delicious! I'm looking forward to some venison stew.... my favorite.

I do the onion soup mix and add a can of cream of mushroom soup too. It's good either way. Deer chops.... :drool

Pumpkin-carrot puree soup! I'm so thankful to be cooking something homemade! Canned carrots from last year's garden. Pumpkin from this year's garden. Didn't have any homemade broth though, so bouillon cubes to the rescue.

My recipe ended up to be

12 cups chicken broth
3 cups cooked pumpkin
pint jar canned carrots
2 cups cream! had to log back in to edit my post and add it! lol

cook and puree with stick blender

Then
onion flake (lots)
garlic flake
turmeric
ground chipotle (little)
paprika (eh, more than a little)
red pepper flakes (little)

Was SO good! Served with a dollop of sour cream. :drool:love

Son in law came over and helped me put plastic over the screens on the front porch. When we were done, I said I'm going to give you guys a home cooked meal but your going to have to cook it. We went out to the shop and from the deep freezer, I gave him two large thick deer backstrap steaks, two quarts of blanched green beans and 4 ears of sweet corn. All harvested from my home garden :)

Tonight I cooked chicken wings and baked beans. We love wings and I think that might have been my last package. The good news is DH is enthusiastic about raising chicken CCX in the spring.
