I like to shop in the Baker Seed catalog and then see if I can find cheaper seeds of the same variety. Right now I'm looking on the
https://mypatriotsupply.com/collections/50-off-heirloom-seeds/products/organic-sunray-tomato-seeds
website and see that they have some seeds for .39cents a package. I dunno if they are comparable in the amount of seeds in the pack cuz I'm just starting the comparison.

I'm looking in the 50% off section.

My Patriot Supply offers free shipping on orders over $99 to the 48 contiguous United States. Orders under $99 are charged a flat shipping rate of $7.95.

Thanks for the free shipping tip. My winter order is usually big enough to get free shipping.

FYI, when you order from Baker Creek, you get free shipping for the next 6 months. Which is great because I always forget something!!

I need to get my Baker Creek order in ASAP. They sell out of the good stuff so fast! I just need to cross-shop to see if varieties are less elsewhere. But Baker Creek has bulk/larger sizes available this year at excellent prices, so they might get all my garden money this year.

Your welcome and the no tax thing is more important to me than free shipping. Illinois has rediculas high taxes. The last tax hike was it for me... Now I go out of my way to not pay sales taxes, by ordering most everything i need online. Free shipping is just icing on the cake. Senator Dick Durbin need to be voted out of office, but there are no term limits on Senators :( we need term limits on Senators!

I save a lot of seed from my summer garden veggies, so it's mainly my the spring/fall garden I need seeds for.

I talked to my daughter about getting the spring/fall garden started early this year - she's all about it. Does anyone have a good place to by low tunnel fabic? This will be my first time using it.

Temperature history by zip code. Have a look here to kind of guess when the last day your temp will hit 20 degrees. It's weather... So a guess a best but historically highes, lows and averages help you guess. 20 degrees is that "magic" temperature that triggers bolting in onion seedlings.

https://www.wunderground.com/history/

We have 20 degrees in January and February, usually lasts a week or so. Last January we hit single digits. Onions never make it to August for me.

Baker Creek ships via DHL. I don't ever remember getting anything delivered by DHL. Hope they can find my house out here in the middle of nowhere. Even FedEx & UPS drops stuff at the post office for them to deliver. Our mailman knows where we live but UPS & FedEx can't find us.

Yep just as I suspected... Baker creek ships via DHL, DHL drops off at the United States Postal Service to deliver to me.

Like I said... Our mail man knows where we live but FedEx, UPS can't seem to find us and drop our packages off at the post office for delivery or the post Master calls us to come pick it up if it's to big or to heavy. I guess that's the advantage of living in the middle of nowhere.

Yep DHL ain't all that... :( This means a 3 business day delay. Our sorting center is Saint Louis Missouri not Hazzlewood Missouri. So my package has to go back to Hazzlewood from muphysboro (1 day Friday). Hazzlewood then has to send it to Saint Louis (1 day Saturday) then it has to be sent for Saint Louis to Creal Springs (1 day Monday) so if all goes according to plan, I should have it Christmas Eve day (Dec 24). But don't doubt it... most likely so sometime next week after Christmas.

Keep this in mind when ordering from Baker Creek.

Our postal logistics is something else. When my wife pays the water bill. She puts it in our mail box out front and lifts the flag on the mail box. The post man grabs it takes it to the Creal Springs post office. The Creal springs post office, puts it on a truck and sends it's it the Saint Louis sorting center. The saint Louis sorting center then puts it on a truck and sends it back to the Creal Springs post office, who then puts it in the post office box for the water department commissioner to pick it up.

And we wonder why the post office is in the black year after year :barnie
