My orthopedist suggested I try CBD for my arthritis; it works like a charm. She said that the reason they have so many different pain relief options is because none of them work for everybody... you have to experiment to find the one that works best for you. Since our county finally agreed that cannabis is legal to grow, I bought some seeds for plants that were specifically high CBD and low THC (which is the compound that gets you high). CBD works better if you have at least a small amount of THC mixed in. I have some ready to put into olive oil; after about 6 weeks it will be ready to make a salve with beeswax or coconut oil, or I can use some of it internally if I need it.
Could you start a CBD thread and explain how you make your own? My husband just started taking it in capsule form to get him off anxiety meds. It is his second week. It is with the full blessing of his doctor, he is very interested in how this is going to work. I believe it does a lot of good for a lot of people. It would be a good discussion thread. The rest of us have to buy it. LOL

Wind storm here last night. Power was out about 17-18 hours. Much less than we were expecting with the high number of outages.

Had gusts up to 60 mph according to the station

I'm surprised the fermented feed stayed thawed today. Temp never got above 18. But, the flock's "sun room" was at 34* this morning when it was 14*. Spring is on the way.

Hun need I remind you it's only the beginning of January still lots of winter left (even though it doesn't feel like it) it hit almost 60 today here in southern IL but it's really wet lots of rain

It's still very mild here and I have to keep reminding myself that winter is far from over yet and anything is possible. Right now it's hard to imagine snow though.

Here, the roads finally melted the last of the ice away from the rain/snow storm on Sunday night. Except for our driveway, the truck almost slid into the calf shed on my way out this morning - I forgot to put it back into 4-wheel drive when I pulled into our driveway last night.
It is about 16 degrees F with sustained winds of around 17-20 mph. Ergo, a windchill temp of about 1 degree.
Yep, Mr. Winter has returned. At least for a little bit.
