Hi Hope. Welcome back! You've been busy! An airboat business? Very cool! Do you live near the Everglades? (Sorry I should go up and read the first big message again.)

Digging a pond is cool. Hopefully you won't get any visiting aligators. We used to have one in an area pond when we lived in Columbus, GA. But then alligator done right tastes good. I'm not sure, are they legal to hunt?

I was born and raised in the FL Keys and spent alot of my time in the Glades or in the ocean. My husband also grew up down there. But we now live in North Central FL, so we now have the Swamp not the Glades.

Yes, Gators are legal to hunt with a permit. They are considered "federal". You have to do kinda a draw to get tags, at least thats how it is here in FL. And as far as private land goes I believe its a little different. My husband used to do guide gator hunts in the Glades when we were still down there.
And yes, gator is VERY yummy. But we dont just est the tail. Actually, to us, the tail is the worst part of the gator, in taste.
