I started broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, kale and purple cauliflower on January 27. At least the garden tub is good for something.

Then I moved stuff to the closet, wound up with 3 shop lights and 4 rows of flats.

February 14, I disced up the garden with my tractor. I planted tomato and eggplant seeds on Feb 12. I have a flat (65 peat pellets) of Cherokee Purple and a flat of German Johnson tomatoes now about 5-6 inches high.

February we started laying down pumpkin boxes. They are triple thick, wish we had MORE of them. Then we put wood chip mulch over the boxes. Still haven't finished that patch, need a few more rows of boxes. LOL

Dirt pictures.

Pumpkin boxes, we have almost covered this patch now. This patch was real weedy last year, hadn't planted it before. Planted purple hull peas last year, the weeds took over, wild cucumbers (horrible, I hate them) covered the pea vines and smothered them out.

Purple cauliflower. The seed was from 2012, a lot came up, but some got damping off, I am going to plant them today.

I planted English peas in January, they are up about 5 or 6 inches now. I have 3 rows.

I started Painted Mountain corn seeds inside, then set out plants. I started seeds February 12, set them out March 8. A storm that night knocked quite a few down. I will get new seeds direct planted in the garden today or in the next few days. I also will plant beets and radishes today.

I really have a good feeling about this season's garden, I think it will be the best one since we've been here.

Going outside!

I just came in. I had a bunch of beets, partial packets. So I planted them. I planted Bulls Blood, Chioggia, Albino, Cylindra, and Sugar Beets. I planted Purple Plum and Daikon radishes.

I planted 4 1/2 rows of Painted Mountain corn- 214 seeds. I planted 30 Purple of Sicily Cauliflower plants. Some look good, some are kinda small.

Then I watered everything in real good, fed critters and came in. Drinking a glass of water, then fixing chicken wings this evening.

Wow - you've been BUSY! Congrats on getting so much done. Can't wait to see pics of all the progress in a month or so. Guess I'll garden vicariously through you this year....
