Sounds Greight to me! On a roll there! The good home is such a wonderful bonus. Especially with a bottle kid that you've invested your feelings upon.

Tonight I moved an almost ready -- "any time" -- doe to the barn. We have a NorEaster blowing in And I feel she's close enough to be concerned. The goat barn is fine for those in there but not big enough for kidding and being able to have a moment alone. Well, She hollered & hollered. Her 2 doelings from 2018 hollered -- ran around looking for her. Brought her 2 yrlg does over to settle her & them...Then, some of the others in the goat barn began...geesh!! I turned out the barn lights, said eat your hay and shut up!!!!! Will mosey on out to see how they are in a while. Sure don't think she'll kid tonight! tomorrow I'll put the 2 yrlings in adjacent stall, once I add height, so they don't jump out. Couple boards nailed up will do it. No choice because with rain all day we all KNOW they won't leave the barns. But, don't want a day old stepped on by others, or her in trouble, me running all over in the rain. Why, why? Am I still going this? Why the rain? Why a storm? Lotta why...

Right now, selling sounds pretty good.

But, when you have those babies running around and a fridge full of fresh milk - it'll get better! And today is the first day of Spring! Hope ya don't catch it too bad from the crazy weather we've been having....

You are really selling some goats! You may be on the right track, smaller herd, but more productive.

That is the hope!

Geeze, where does my time go? I have so many things I need to get done....and I just can't seem to keep up with anything...grrrrr. I go out every morning and feed everybody and then do the bottle babies. I'm going home every day at lunch and feeding the babies and also some other quick chores while I'm there...and then every evening the same thing. Lather, rinse, repeat... I think it's because I've separated a bunch of critters and I'm having to go to so many different pens to take care of the different groups. I would like to turn Lucy and her babies out - but I'm milking Lucy to help feed the bottle babies. I'd like to turn Cameo and her babies out - but I'm milking her too. That would help the feed bill too...

I have to work Saturday so there goes some more of my time. I have GOT to butcher another pig....even if I have to do it in the dark.

I sure hope there are a few simple things I can get DH to do when he stops working, lol.

And, I haven't planted a single seed. I really need to do that. We might need the free food, lol!

I hope your DH would be willing and able to help you around the place when he retires. You are spreading yourself very thin at times, like now with the bottle babies

I hope so too!

ALL these things stretch you thin!! But we continue It's an addiction. I feel my things pile up and up...see a slack week and think some time to "do", then -- it RAINS!! I feel your pain! Yep, that "free" milk is a need. Just isn't fair. You hope to live until you can retire... The stress makes doing without but, staying home, look real good.
