I've only special ordered Jumbo CCX Roos from the Rural King store. They arrive at the store and they put them in a tub with food and water. Then they call me to come pick them up. When I get there I look them over real well before putting them in a box, paying for them and then take then home.

IMO, when a shipment goes bad like this, the customer should be reimbursed for the entire shipment, even if there are some survivors.
I mentioned that in my email, but they chose to reimburse me for the original 17. I got an email from TSC asking about my "experience". I will answer that after I slaughter any survivors and lower the boom. I will write them a scathing review-politely. I kinda have this way with words....

Ugh.

Am fortunate to have Meyer 90 minutes away. 90 minutes of non stop peeping on the drive home definitely puts a smile on your face
We are about 1 1/2 hours from a place that raises CCX on pasture and sells the meat. They also sell chicks. I wanted to order from them and go pick them up, but they were sold out until May. I didn't want to get such a late start, but heck-fire, I would have been a LOT better off waiting and buying from them.

TSC--NEVER AGAIN! :tongue

Bay, I thought you might like to know... My 3rd oldest son drove large USPS mail truck in between Saint Louis distribution center and down state southern IL town post offices for almost 2 years. He did mention to me that USPS does take special care in carefully handling of live fowl but its against regulations to have them in the cab of the truck with the driver. My son did say he always made sure live fowl was the last on the truck and the first off the truck.

My dealings with USPS employees have always been positive. I have no complaints. If it wasn't for the USPS and the great people who work there, none of us would ever get boxes of fluffy peeps. I feel I got a box of sickly chicks, dead and stinking ones in the box. For them to already be stinking, they had to die pretty quick after shipping. Just a bad experience.

Yeah that's a bummer - sorry to hear this :(

I don't know if with TS you can have then sent to the store for pick up or not. But if so it might be a good option for you next go around. At least then TS has some skin in the game.
