My smaller 3 acre field is covered up with clover. I seen several bees and even a few rabbits but expected to see many more bees. This field is mowed for hay twice a year. Follow the red line, that dark spot is my hunting dog. Lots of rain this spring, its tall in this field.

That looks wonderful.

Bees were all over here when the dandelion bloomed. They won't show up in force again until the comfrey blooms. Then the catnip. My cats are mostly immune to catnip effects so I let the stuff spread and keep it for the bees.

I don't see a lot of honeybees. It's mostly different species of bumblebees. They are fat, calm, and don't care if I put the camera in their face. Unless I actually grabbed them I don't think they would sting me.

We had lots of crimson clover (see avatar LOL) and tons of white clover. The sheep have gotten fat and sassy on it. Lots of bees too, we didn't plant any this year, it reseeded from last year. This coming fall, we are going to spread more seed.

Your field sure is pretty. :love Of course, in my mind, I picture sheep grazing it. :thumbsup

My husband loves the crimson clover. It lines the roadsides here. We sowed a 50# bag of seed in fall of 2017 and got a great re-seed and return. We are going to sow another bag this fall. It is down the driveway, across the front by the road and some in the pastures. DH is more concerned about looks, whereas I don't give a rat's behind about looks, I am all about utility.

I'll get another bag of white clover to sow too......

We planted white clover last year and nothing came up but lambs quarters, lol.

Try again with the clover, if you get a good stand, it is well worth it. You do have to be careful in letting the animals out to graze it to start with. I restrict their time to 45 minutes, increasing slowly and keeping out baking soda and dolomite lime for them.
