Not a lot going on these days except mud, mud and more mud. I don't think anything planted in the ground is going to survive, much less thrive. I've got some of the big tubs planted and they seem to be doing well. Guess I need to see about planting more in them even though it's late. But, with our long growing season I might get lucky. I noticed several tomatoes that have fruit on them. Some of the squash is about to bloom. It's not a total failure - but pretty dismal.

DH is still having a lot of pain from his dental work. He's supposed to have a laser eye procedure soon. Yay. He's having hand surgery on the 28th.

I'll have the anchors for dental implants done on Monday. Definitely not looking forward to that - but definitely looking forward to having it behind me.

Goats are growing, chickens are chickening. I think I've got three broodies... Started an all out war on rats...with all the rain they are moving to high ground. Guess where the high ground is - my barns. Not gonna tolerate that!

It seems to be our new normal... DH usually doesn't get discouraged - but right now he's just a little bit tired of surgeries. And after the first hand surgery on the left hand - he'll have to have the right hand done. But there's really no other choice. He's fast losing function in both of them. Life's little challenges, right? ;)

How's your wife doing, @FarmerJamie ? And are you still at the new job? (and loving it I hope!)

That looks like the farm fields around our place this year. They start to dry out and then we get more rain.
We actually have a farm in the area that is called "The Muck Farm". It was a wetland at one time and has been drained, so the soil is dark and smells like rotten vegetation when it rains.

The wife is doing okay.

The new job is awesome. Lots going on elsewhere too.

Don't want to get ahead of things but three of the items I was planning to address at the end of the year may get resolved this summer.
