get some homeopathic arnica to cut down on the swelling after oral surgery of any kind. Really helps with the healing time

I use organic popcorn that we pop on the stovetop. Lots of fiber! Fiber is good for lowering cholesterol. I’ve taken to drizzling it with a nice olive oil and sprinkling garlic powder over it- so yummy and actually pretty heart healthy!

I’ve had next to no pain. They gave me 3 motrin and two Tylenol before the procedure and I repeated 6 hours later. Not sure why the combo works so well - but it does. Fantastic pain relief without any of the grogginess of a stronger pain pill.

I should keep some arnica on hand. I’ve never used it but ya'll recommend it frequently it’s bound to be good stuff!

I loves me some arnica! We use the tablets and the cream rub. It’s goood stuff!

My sister had implants. Her teeth were so bad, the implants are wonderful for her.

Crazy thing is that my teeth are fine, lol. It's the roots that are the problem, lol. They are being resorbed by my body from massive trauma caused by my braces as a teenager. It's slow and insidious and it takes decades to see the problem - but the problem found me for sure. And there's no pain involved with it....I'm glad about that... but if it hurt I would have found the issue years earlier...sigh. And I may very well have more implants in my future. I'll be out of money but I'll have teeth, lol!

Home today cuz I have sick time I need to use before I retire - so I'm using it. It's windy, windy, windy - but I'm going to try to get a few things done anyway. Rain maybe this afternoon -but I've got work to do inside so it's ok either way.

Need to work on finding some hay. Need to start stocking up. Weather liars say that after today we'll have a good week or so of dry weather so my guess is that there will be hay a-plenty soon...but since I never trust the weather guys or my luck - I'm going to go ahead and start procuring as much as I can. Do NOT want to be caught short later.

We are so blessed with a good hay supplier.

Spent a lot of time today reclaiming a raised bed. I'm digging out blackberry bushes that have been trying to take over the world! Got another one cleaned out today and shoveled in a couple cart loads of barn gold. Think I'll use it for some winter squash. Got some more zucchini planted in the other bed. I'll use the long weekend to take back another bed. I've almost given up on the in-ground garden. Except - I'll need to put my Red Rippers in there so I can't keep neglecting it forever.

I'll go back to work tomorrow. Kinda wanted to take another sick day - but can't do it when I have no more pain in my mouth. I took pain meds at the dentists office - once more last night and again mid-day today. At this point, I can't justify staying home tomorrow. I will be off Thursday with a pre-planned vacay day. Friday the college is closed, as well as Monday. Tuesday DH is having hand surgery...so I've got a lot of free time coming up to try and finish this project.

I think it is sometimes easier to garden in small beds than a big garden. Mine is galloping away from me. I need to pull up the sugar snap peas and plant squash. I took hedge clippers a couple of days ago and cut several wagon loads of weeds for the sheep. They inhaled them. Just wish there was an easier way!

Thanks bay! The raised beds are nice...it's not like taking on a huge project. It's kinda bite-sized and much easier to deal with.

It's official - today was his last day of work so that's a positive in his life right now! Yay for him.

I'm hating goats right now. I'm milking two to help feed the bottle monsters and tonight neither one of them would go into the milk room. I usually put feed out for them, then take them one at a time into the milk room. They get feed on the stand also. But, nope. They weren't having it. So, I took away their outside feed and decided I'm goin to pitch them out in the pasture as soon as I can catch them and they can just be miserable. The bottle babies can have pure cow milk for the little bit longer that they'll be on milk. Stupid goats.

Yay for DH's first full day of retirement! He's been talking with possible care-helpers for his mom. She's 87 and is beginning to need some help. Her mind is good but the body is beginning to weaken. We moved her closer to us several years ago just for this reason. She only needs a bit of help with bathing and things like laundering her bedding. But, of course the decline is inevitable...

I've been missing a sow for a couple of days. I don't think anything negative has happened - I think she's hiding with a new litter. Remember that "barrow" that turned out to be a boar? I think while he was 'covert' he did what a boar does. I'm just thankful that he only got this one sow in the family way. Kinda bothers me that she's been MIA since Tuesday. I went for a cursory walk through the pasture yesterday evening but didn't see her. I'm going to climb on the tractor today and go on a hunt if she hasn't come back up. Kinda expect to see her this morning when I go out. I'm finishing this cup of coffee and then will head out to feed.
