I noticed that they did not mention what the FDA allowable limit is. All the article says it that it is above the level this environmental action group thinks is safe - without saying what that level is either.

Now don't get me wrong, I wish I lived in a world where pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, and all manor of hazardous chemicals were not allowed in our food chain. Zero, Nada, None, Zilch.
But that is not reality. Consumers are part of the problem, we demand our fruit and veggies be blemish free, and our food to be cheap.

I am working on becoming more chemical free with what I grow and produce from my property. But I will never be completely self-sufficient.

Its in the middle of the article "the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has a far higher threshold for glyphosate content, ranging from 0.1 to 310 parts per million, rather than per billion."

Should be, everywhere!

Since I eat little to no cereal -- save some cooked oatmeal on occasion -- I can say "shameful" and go forward.

There are days when I want to save the world -- then, those where I say "crap on you -- if you don't care, why should I" and just take care of me and mine. I mean, if these shoppers don't know what organic means, cart is full of cookies, processed meats, plastic cheese and they are already 200# overweight, on 10 meds a day and still think McD is prime cusine -- what can I add? :idunno

If a person is trying to eat well, I help. Otherwise -- on your own.

What I dislike is the use of these chemicals on most all the foods commercially grown. Since I cannot change the world, I just work on me, mine and friends who ask.
That's most days...then you hit a nerve and I grab the soapbox!:old

I got in a heated discussion on TEG about Roundup. I invited my opponent to drink it, if it was so safe. He declined and had more to say, we finally had to call a truce before we both got kicked off the forum. I didn't change his mind and he durn sure didn't change mine.

Yeah... I don't think I would want to argue with you Bay. I mean its a battle you just cant win. You tell it like it is "drink it, if you think it's safe" I mean even a dumbo knows better .

Interesting; I remember reading about Dr Rutledge drinking DDT back in the day. Here's what he has to say about it in 2010.
