So father and son, john and john (we call them johnjohn) mowed hay off my property over the weekend. All I asked for was one bale to hay in my birds for winter. They dropped off a round that's taller than me (6'). I didn't know the could roll them up so big .

I think I have more than enough to hay in my turkeys and chickens now.

Looks like nice hay too. looks like baby Bear likes it too.

Some of those round bales get pretty huge, cheap price for Johnjohn to get hay. Bet he appreciates it.

Around here, the farmers are worried about getting enough forage stored for winter. We have been so wet and had such a long cold spring that everything is behind schedule. 6" of rain in the last 2 weeks doesn't help at all.

Reminds me of my little sis and I helping my oldest sister make hay in Idaho. We were stacking bales when little sis grabbed a bale and it had a rattlesnake tied up in it. Never thought she could toss a bale of hay that far, but I did know she could scream that loud!

He was growling and barking at it. I mean how dare it being in his yard  That's why I took him out to see it, and prove to him it wasn't a badin' . He's very protective of the property and especially my wife and I.

I moved my sawmill into the shade and he barked at it for over a week until I took him out to see it. After he pee'ed on it, he's cool with it. Something new, that he has to claim, I guess??? He's a weird dog...

Barking and growling at something that is not supposed to be there is his job , you know. That is the sign of a good farm dog.

I'd LOVE to have one of those bales! One would be good. Two would be enough! Did the dog pee on the hay also? If so, he's just getting a head start at starting a nice hay bale garden for you.

Yes of course he peed on it.

This is no joke... If you were to come visit me. He would not like you at first, growl & bark. You most likely would mess yourself, because his is quite the intimidator.

But if you just stood still and let him sniff of you and let him pee on your leg or shoes, you two would be best buds from their on out.

On the other hand if you were a small child you guys would be best buds right off the bat and he would lick you allover and protect you. I guess it's his way of he adopting you automatically into his pack.

Like I said he's very protective, he's most definitely a alpha Rottweiler through and through and a bit difficult to try and understand. But he also know full well I'm the leader of the pack. Its rare now that I have to remind him that I'm the leader.

I've only been peed on by a dog once in my life. I was totally stunned when this huge dog walked up to me, sniffed my hand, then let loose a stream of wet warmth dripping down my leg and filling my sneaker. I'd rather be barked and growled at.

When people come see us, Trip, our male GP, poops by their car or truck. This is after he pees on the wheels, checks it out and decides it is his to guard. I guess on his mind, a poop pile is a warning to any coyote that might try to drive it away.
