Every so often, ads run on local TV for that site. The focus has been to have a family rally point plan (my term) in case of an event. Good point that doesn't often get discussed.

Yes, plus the Army Corps of Engineers is always mucking with the outflows, too. In those high years, local news is always running stories of local beach cliff erosion. In the low years, stories about how the marinas need to dredge to remain serviceable
Good responses on advice, so far. Since I fit your age criteria *cough cough*, I had a few thoughts in general:
- protect your mental health. If you can care for yourself, you can't care for others, like the oxygen mask preflight safety briefing. However you get your peace is up to you.
Only issue is calcium in the water. The jars have a powdery coating that vinegar takes right off. As long as we are here in town, I will consider using distilled water in the canner.

There might not be room in the canner. Lol. The initial stock set aside is already enough for 9 quarts, more or less.
Smells so good and then the stock is silky smooth with the chicken fat. Just need the dishwasher to finish cleaning/heating the jars
