Sorry to hear. I didn't hear that,,.. well that I remember in BYH. Last fall I came home from a job just getting over being sick and the neighbor who is family spent time with his grand baby's over a week before I got home then with my wife (his niece) and my kids over a week before I got home...
The birds are still less active but the squirells are waiting for the coop door to open now. Had one sitting on top of the swinging layer pellet feeder just having a buffet.
Thanks again and agreed on earning their own keep.
I have a very small herd and just use blocks for mineral and salt intake. The "feeder" is the only one who gets regular feeding.
Our little or not so little bird input has decreased greatly after the "thaw" of melting snow.
I have also been putting a little scratch out for the lower ranked roo so he can eat after being run out.
One more question. How long do you do this? How often? Do you do this annually, quarterly or always have it in the feed? Maybe more than ONE question.
I started using it on my feeder steer/bull and allowing the time for butcher. I imagine it would be a lot less different than a normal dewormer...
We are not purposefully feeding the birds but I do wonder how much of our scratch they eat out of the chicken tractor. There are several in their before we open it up every day. We didn't freeze up but we did some how run out of water. The water tower ran out of water.????
Had a box dinner with added green chiles tonight. Yea not homemade but good in almost record cold temps.
On the stove now since yesterday is a our canning pot with nothing but gallons of water to keep that end of the house warm.
Stay warm my friends.
Never used or even heard of feeding DE to cattle. I use it in the coop and dusting box. I use permethirin on cattle, horses and the chickens leg mites.
Many personal use type individuals use 10x the amount of herbicides and pesticides just to have a pretty lawn as large ag. The large ag is limited the house in town is not.
I do wonder. But for centuries people have said the same. So I worry but don't know.
It does look like the down fall is coming for the "last" great nation.
A saying I have always liked living paycheck to paycheck is "It cost just as much to keep a tank full as it does empty" I add only you don't have to worry about running out right before pay day.
Currently I will fill up at 3/4 a tank if I'm in town (If I don't know when I'll be back in town)...
I wish I had read this earlier but to the interest of those who find this later with the same problem.
If they kept moving/swarming to your house or elsewhere that would be perfect to just simply set up a hive and cross your fingers they move in and you have a swarm with out a removal. The...
You do stay busy beekissed. I put a new metal roof on during thanksgiving break. I took a few extra days off work. Will have to fix all the penatrations during Christmas or whenever I get laid off. Haven't been home since early July and didn't have the money then. I put the tin over the shingles...
