Yes... you do not want them overly fat... but you want them to have enough fat on their backs that snow does not melt.
Very important in cold climates for cattle and horses and similar.
Goats though... they NEVER let snow sit on their backs!!!
The nice thing about a goat, especially a Saanen... is a good one can milk for years before needing to be bred again! Also, a smaller size is easier to handle (less danger too, even if very tame, just think of a cow stepping on your foot verses a goat stepping on your foot... ) but sannen...
Roof leaks stress me out... I start having visions of rot, mold, and money swirling away at record speed. full on terrifying.
