Woo Hoo - visiting nurse decided not to visit after all! Yay - I was soooo not up for having a visitor today.
Spent some time in the barn re-building/repairing the divider where the feeders hang. Stoopid goats always stand up on it and it ends up leaning, leaning, leaning... and eventually...
Slept in until 7:30. It was nice, lol. It was 12 degrees when I got up. Ran to get my phone and take a pic and it had jumped up to 13. What the heck is happening in southeast Texas?!? Sure hope it'll kill a bug or two (million)!
Speaking of cold weather and bugs I keep whining about...
TWELVE degrees when I got out of bed at 7:30. Never in my time here has it been this cold. My power bill is gonna be astronomical and I don't even care. I need to be warm in my own home.
I tried to do a good deed for the birds this morning too. While I was outside feeding the quail during the snowfall I tossed some feed out on the ground/snow for the little birds. Five minutes later it was covered with more snow. I've got a lot to learn about the white stuff, lol!
Ugh! Yes, the snow was exciting for a minute. After spending hours outside this morning feeding I'll be ok if I don't see any more for a decade or so, lol.
We have snow. Roads, driveway and sidewalks are solid covered but yard and pastures have taller grass showing through. Not exactly the pretty picture that I hoped for. However, it's still coming down pretty hard. And wind, we have wind. Brrrrrr.
I've added another layer to my normal cold...
Been mourning the demise of the Houston Texans.:( Nothing to do but wait on next year...again!
Spent about 5 hours outside yesterday finishing up winter preps. Thought it would only take an hour or so, lol. I was overly optimistic. However - I am about as ready as I can be for whatever...
I'm south of Houston so I can generally grow something almost year-round. We've got low 20's or maybe even teens coming up in the next few days which is fairly unusual for us. And snow! Snow is rare as hen's teeth around here, lol. Haven't decided yet if I'll cut the rest or mulch heavy...
