I did watch the video. Like many 😄 they had too much fluff & I like "get to the point" ... But since mine are well established & I use, it was known. Some parts would be great for ones not already doing & using. I found I wanted to brush over parts :hide
Your orchard info is interesting --...
My elder berries were planted by birds 😁 yes, the goats will eat them to the ground! Berries that drop just grow more plants. So I have patches they can't access. That and my comfrey.
Both are excellent & highly medicinally used plants. I have to protect mine  Have a lot of...
True. There are many who do not have income for these increases. Some who adjust what & how much they buy to afford things like soap & TP. 😵💫
Some won't supplement with a garden. Others don't because of restrictions -- location &/or health, ability -- even area of country where they live...
Most of mine goes to chickens or cats. 😁 Even coffee grounds are repurposed. Once I've used food from raw/grown to savory eating, broths, etc, balance is fed out. Excess garden veggies to animals, etc. Minimal waste for trash here. Even excess milk from goats is made into cheese or soaps...
One store has Boston butt @99 and another has split chicken breasts @99 starting 2 days later. I'll stock up on both at that price. 👍. I've been so good at eating out of freezer for 3 months, so stock up time!
Can't find much of any meats at this price. 😳
I think someone is loaning her one, this year. 🤞🤞
Yeah, they're expensive but doing every year makes it worthwhile! This is when you want a half ownership
@flowerbug .... you have no livestock.
A nursing goat doe drinks 3 gal a day. I have 40. Melting snow doesn't cut it. They must have water available. I can heat water, by propane if needed. These issues are something that breeders do know and address. We have this weather only every...
Livestock water is my first consideration. Many filled tubs to last several days in these events. But just breaking ice can be a chore if a deep freeze for several days. I tote hot water to tubs, keep them drinking. Electric outages are troublesome for those reasons. On a person basis, I...
Cold!! Wind chill makes it 12* now. About 6" on ground & still coming down, slower. Still not a fan of snow. It's white, everywhere. Goats are all "inside" 👍 it's bad weather.
Trying to prep myself for our unusual -- most in 14 yrs! -- snow event :epmentally. I'm seeing several days of trudging through 6-10" of snow, that is a blizzard for us. 😣 Cold & breezy now. :fl no power loss.
