The hydrangeas are lovely there -- told you a spot would happen! Adds a nice punch of color to enjoy with coffee in those porch chairs. Plus your chickens look relaxed & lovely after their spa day ☺️
@Hinotori were they eggs from your hens? I have a broody setting 7 eggs. Considered buying eggs but, none close and she was serious! So, used eggs from flock. 🤷
Lightly overcast morns all week it seems. Otherwise good weather. Plan to mow some fence lines today....checking as I go for any...
8 pts of ham chunks cooling. Put 2nd ham in frig. Will decide what I want to do in a couple days. 3rd put into freezer. Soooo, while canner doing it's job, I look for a bag of beans to go with ham bone. None! Wanted white and only pinto or red kidney -- I've canned the rest. 🥴 Wrapped up...
🙄 Actually, beef has gotten so high that that was a decent price! Chuck is running 6.99-7.99 around here. It'll be real cheap sounding in a couple more months :old
I got 2 butt portion hams @ .88 -- Easter sales -- gonna can up in pints, make a pot of beans with the small bone. Cheap meals...
Ahhh....great coffee! Usual stuff, just very needed.
Contemplating a quiet morning drive to pick up the rebuilt tractor starter this morning. Thinking to do as I slowly get self motivated & before I get involved in a task, not wanting to stop & run around. It's a little gloomy/overcast yet...
Maybe a certified ltr first? :idunno. Stating remedy & coming litigation if not satisfied. You'll need to prove attemps in court, anyway. One step closer.
Do you have to buy or are you able to forage that many egg sacks? I'd suspect buy!! I've never found that many around ☺️ in fact, don't see a lot of them here...believe my chickens see them first 🫢. Are they the Carolina type? Not Chinese!
It's only 47 here, with 41 feel like. Almost 2" of rain in last 24 and that makes for cold, damp, goes thru to bones feel. I'm having hot coffee and had some heat going for 2 days now. 😒 It was in mid 80s just 10 days ago. What happened??? 😱. This is 20* below our norm...not liking it either...
Seems 2 hens have gone broody for me now 👍 I'll secure them to expecting mom units tomorrow night....woohoo, ready for chicks. Thanks girls, save the incuator chores.
That's sooo true now. Didn't used to be....no stores close or products available like today. Life is entirely different than 60 yr ago. And I say that from experience!! :old I had graduated school & working full time for a couple years. $5 an hr was decent pay  a lot of bread costs...
Here, the cats & chickens are treated to the whey. Also to clabber milk, occasionally -- when I have more milk than cold storage room. That's also when I make cheese ☺️
Whey can be sprayed onto veggies, too. Spent coffee grounds help tomatoes. Manures are good fertilizers, free. Some need...
Ahhh...blessed home farmed milk, cheese & eggs. I do make cream cheese with goats milk. 👍 Goat butter is good but, cow cream makes better butter. No cows here but tempting.
I believe bull & blessed thistles are similar but different. 🤔 Maybe cousins? Both a thorn in a pasture.
Wow. So sorry to hear this. It's not "just" the patient who suffers, the family does also. Many considerations and I'm praying for good results. Might be some alternative methods worth trying:idunno🤔
Our low for today was this morning. 37. Hope it's last 30s until fall. 🤞 definitely not liking cold
Off to work in a few. Enjoy your day everyone :):frow
