    Collards anyone

I love canned collards!!! My dad and I usually do several quarts each year. We just can them by themselves, and add the meat when we cook them.

Punkins' world....SUNSHINE, seeds and no more drought!

DH sold one of my quilts. It just so happens it was my very favorite lap quilt, but that's OK. I can always make another one. This is it. It is a large lap 42" x 56". He also wants a full size just like it. :weee The back is solid black. She used a large tulip stencil in white thread and...

    Soap Making 101

I did add some vanilla scent to the coffee. It came out a rich coffee color, kind of like you added just a hint of cream. Although I did forget to add the coffee grounds for scrubbing kitchen odors off hands. Oh, and make sure the coffee is chilled when you add lye. :/ In this recipe, I used...

    Soap Making 101

So far, I haven't tried actual fruit and veggie bits, just juices (cranberry, carrot, even triple strength coffee). I usually sub the juice for about half of the water. I pour it in after I have mixed the oils with the lye.

I always add my goat milk to the mixture after I have mixed the lye/water with the oils. That way, the goat milk or other liquid doesn't come into contact with the lye. The lye is neutralized after you add it to the oils so it doesn't burn the milk. Right?

Punkins' world....SUNSHINE, seeds and no more drought!

I've come up with a new label that I will be printing on plain white cardstock paper. I had been using color coordinating scrapbook paper, but it really takes too much time. Plus, I want one easily identifiable label. You're right about the smell. I think the scent and color are what gets...

It depends on the recipe. I always wait at least 3 weeks, more if the soap is still a bit soft.

Huh, everyone that smells raspberry here, loves it. Go figure. I don't mind crossing the apple off. Since I already have some fragrance oil, I may try it just to see. Strawberry vanilla sounds good.

With the cucumber, did you use any other fragrance or is the puree enough to scent it?

    Soap Making 101

Alot of those sound like most of the fragrances I like. I also checked out Brambleberry's top sellers and asked alot of friends their preferences. Here are some ideas so far: (if this soap stuff takes off :/ ): Rose, lavender, sandlewood, cucumber melon, raspberry, citrus (not orange), peach...
