Oh, thank you, I'm doing ok, back on doxycycline, though, because of tick bites - started to get the headache, now I recognize it for what it is! I'm trying to get back to my online haunts :)
Lori, if you don't mind, I'm going to make a few observations here.
First off, you don't want to leave out that tenth frame. The nine frames in the honey super is to let them built it out far enough to be able to easily remove the cappings when you're extracting. You don't want to violate...
There isn't an incandescent light left in my house. I don't mind the CFLs, they don't flicker the way the older ones did. As for durability, I've had many of them now for well over five years, the only one we've replaced recently is one of the outdoor ones on the garage, and that was at least...
If you just look at your page via your profile you'll create the link. If there's no content, there's a bot program that goes through and deletes those pages once in awhile. If you have content and it was deleted, then that's a problem.
Then go, via one click, to The Easy Garden, linked at the bottom of every page. I understand the issues with BYH, and we're working on them, but that's where livestock discussions belong. There's a lovely community over on TEG just waiting for your input - many who post here are there, too.
All four forums are 'sister sites'. Duplication of effort equals more work for moderation, etc. If you have problems on the other sites, report them. Your reports are not ignored. Some portions of the community are harder to rein in than others. If we keep together as a community we can make...
The custom titles aren't something that can be shuffled around, sorry. As the forum grows it's going to besomething handed out sparingly, as it is on BYC.
The reason it's weaker and thinner is that honey has antimicrobial and antifungal properties - so the poor little scoby organisms had quite a battle on their hands to even live. This is why honey isn't recommended for kombucha.
I am leaving this here for now. Jennifer, I hope you are going to become a good contributor here - that will prove that you aren't here to just draw people away to your own site. I did look around and didn't see anything obvious for sale, it does look like a good place to learn. Good luck...
There is a box to check if you want to save a PM you're sending. Rob is working on this over on BYC, hopefully someday those features will be migrated over here.
I don't wash the eggs unless they're obviously dirty, and then with just warm water and a washcloth, only on the dirt. I don't want to wash off the protective coating at all. I 'grade' my eggs in that they start largest on the left hand side of the carton and smallest on the right, and I do...
I live in Massachusetts, where it is ILLEGAL to not have health insurance  If you can't afford it and don't have it, you get to pay a $2,000 fine. Makes sense, doesn't it?? And when we can get it (we have it right now) it costs $179 a week. That's a week, not a month. Times four...
Because it's fun - those same friend who will hold your hands in the hospital and all the other things you mentioned are also on FB, sharing photos and stories, it's just another way to connect. I really don't get why people disdain it - it's just a bit of fun, and it is a way for long lost...
