The fruits might do well to eat if you put them in something like a cobbler where you expect the fruit to be soft and you can spice them up.
In addition to the garden, I am eyeing the flower bed and potential beds in the front of the house. The existing bed has evergreen shrubs and sand cherries. All of which have been horribly maintained. They are too far gone to be cleaned up even with aggressive pruning.
