Was that expected or a surprise??? Cute... baby goats are adorable... then they get older and get to be impossible little wretches.....saving me from falling for them and getting some....LOL
Also, the semen is put into a solution ... like antifreeze but not... so that when it is frozen, it does not damage the tails on the sperm... when it thaws the tails need to be intact to propel the semen to the egg in the reproductive tract.
If you talk to the Galloway assoc... they will have breeders with exceptional bulls that have semen available. I recently bought a tank of semen and there is some belted galloway semen straws in there... they are available.
@CrealCritter ,,, I am late to the party. Everyone else has answered... How close are you to the Select Sire power bull stud? There are a couple places that you can take the bull to, in different states, to have him collected. It is not something you can do yourself... requires the equipment...
Yeah, you will... Just be glad you are not the "odd man out" and running all the packages and all like you were on the weekends and all that.... at least this is a set route... there is an end to the day.....
This time of year is brutal for all the postal workers... my sincere sympathies and...
Down to 15 last night... Sunny but still quite breezy again... hit 42 in the sun but as soon as the sun had moved around it was in the 36-37 range. Felt alot colder.. Did a few things but did not stay outside for very long... broke ice on the water troughs at the barn for the calves...
List...
Windy windy... wow... blowing like it was going to take down the house... more gusts to come... 26 and wind chill in the teens. Tonight should be our coldest yet... forecast in teens BEFORE the wind chill.
Part of it... but I have to go test this afternoon... over an hour away... they don't...
I never went to drs for sprains much either... but do yourself a favor and wrap in an ace bandage to give it support and it will help to keep the swelling down while sitting in the vehicle so much... and try to get out and walk on it a little to keep the circulation going and that will help with...
Up to 36 and some very very welcome RAIN... very slow and easy so far. Forecast is for 1-3 inches... sure hope it keeps this up all day. Chilly, but it will soak in good if it stays slow like this.
We need it desperately. We have been in "extreme drought" conditions for weeks. Won't help...
Sorry @CrealCritter , the way I read it is that you were waiting for them to be 12 weeks and then was going to worm them... Hated to see you spend money on something that you would not see any positive return from, and that they most likely have no need of.
Hard to believe they are already 3...
By the way, they look fine to me, and since they are a smaller breed, do not look like they are lacking anything... they do not look wormy... are propotioned... no big heads or big stomachs/gut.... they are not "pot gutted", or have "hay bellies". How is their manure? If it is semi firm, not...
Why are you going to deworm them? The grass is "dead" from the frost, any larvae are in the ground not on the stalks of grass... they are mostly on milk with a little "taste testing" going on... there is little to no reason they should have worms at this point. Once they get to eating much...
Nice morning here 38, going up to near 70. Worked at taking down the electric netting yesterday, more to do today. Taking down the cattle panels from the T-posts... once the ground softens up enough to pull them... it is like concrete with no rain. Going to make a pile of branches, etc and...
