To show you how skeered I am, I used treated lumber to build my raised bed!  I looked at it this way........any leeching that may occur from a treated board standing on edge, will be downwards, not sideways, and will end up below the top 4-6 inches of soil, and THAT is where the...
Jamie......if all else fails.....one more thing to look at would be adding an extra gasket or two, or even a wooden gasket, between the carb and the engine block. ANYTHING to steal away engine heat from that carb.
Can you get me a picture or three of the carb/engine/air cleaner assembly??
I have a 23 hp Kabota diesel, so you KNOW what I'm gonna tell you to do with that old JD!
Seriously though, Boogity gave you great idea or two, but there are a couple of other things I would look at as well to help cure your problem. First thing would be to run it with the gas cap a...
I owned 2 Cocker Spaniels in my lifetime. My first and my last all wrapped up in one dog. He was THE hard headed-est, sneakiest, thieving, would bite without a reason psychopath dog I ever encountered. Just before my divorce he bit a UPS delivery man, in the crotch! During the divorce I told the...
My meaties go to freezer camp on the 14th of May.
One of my new layers has taken a shine to me. She is soooo stinkin' friendly that I finally had to name her.

I have two Labs and a Golden Retriever at the moment. The Golden is a little more high maintenance(hair care) but she is very intelligent, actually TO smart for her own good at times! You will also have to go a long way to beat a good Lab. They will retrieve whatever you ask/train them for...

The highest I have EVER had my smoker is 300, and that was when I was still learning. 99% of the time is stays around 225 - 250.
 The last inspector that came out here was the county building inspector. He was here for a final occupancy inspection on my new shed I built a couple of years ago, just before I had started the greenhouse. The only time he got nosy with me, was when he asked me why I had put the garage...

I'd also recommend talking to the neighbors closest to the property your looking at. You'd be amazed at how much you can learn from a good neighbor, PLUS it gives you a chance to see if they might be a BAD neighbor!!!
