Ugh, add me to the list of people frustrated to insanity over health insurance. We can't find *anything* affordable for me. Husband fortunately can go to the VA anytime for free because he was in the army and saw combat in Iraq, but I'm stuck high and dry.
The cheapest thing we can find for...
Yay! Another Alabama person!
I loooove your part of the state. I have a bunch of family in Mobile and I invite myself to visit every chance I get. We usually stay at the communal family beach house, on the bay side in Gulf Shores. I've been to Dauphin island a couple times, but I haven't...
Is it tacky to revive one's own thread?
Anyway, I am finally able to get around to building this thing. I've moved from Tuscaloosa to Prattville, from middle of nowhere in the woods to suburbia nightmaresville. Not thrilled, but it's not all bad and it's just for three years while husband is...
One caution about homemade cat diets: cats are obligate carnivores, they can't produce certain amino acids on their own and have to eat meat to get them. Taurine in particular is important, if you don't add it to your raw recipe or feed them whole things (as in, the whole squirrel guts and all)...
I didn't know about the show, but the synopsis I read looks interesting. I need a new show to get into while I wait for more Dexter episodes to happen. :P
I agree!
I used to live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, and I *hated* it when utility guys wouldn't let me know they were out there working. One morning I was on the porch having my coffee and dressed in my inadequate-coverage-for-being-seen bathrobe when the guy installing the power meter...
We had woodstoves in our house when I was a kid. I *love* them, the sight, the smell, everything!
They are absolutely tops for frying up breakfast, there is nothing better for cooking hashbrowns.
Another alternative if you want it for out on the patio, BigBrownHorse made a rocket stove awhile...
The worst part is that I *love* snakes!
I'm the one who picks up a wild (nonvenomous) snake so I can show friends that they are not to be feared, and are really pretty cool.
A moccasin swimming by me, though...that's a different animal altogether. :P
And those electric skates that come in...
I love the water and I love critters, but I just can't combine the two.
I am a huge, giant wuss about water where I can't see the bottom.
The *worst* part about swimming along and seeing a snake?
When he decides to DIVE rather than swimming along the surface where I can keep an eye on him and...
I didn't smell gas or anything like that. Actually, the blobs didn't stink at all, which surprised me.
Our honeymoon wasn't ruined in any way, we still had a great week and got to spend some time with family from far away.
As much as I fought tooth and nail against having an expensive wedding...
Isn't that video heartbreaking? DH and I watched it the other day and I cried. Again.
Since you brought up the oil, I'd like to share my observations about the spill if anyone is interested...
DH and I got married in Gulf Shores, AL on June 19th and then we stayed down at my family's beach...
He could always invest in one of these:
I know it's a practical design, but I laughed 'til I cried the first time I saw one. My dad called those seats "that kind with the ball-nook".
