I have been doing some reading on the activated form of CoQ10 (the best part of fish oils) and I might start that. Have not tried it yet but I need something too, chronically overtired from years and years of shiftwork, which is havoc on many things, but for me I get tired and joint pain...
In Canada we take them back to the Pharmacy and they clean and reuse them. Is that not happening in the US yet? We have only been doing it a year or maybe 2.
Have to take them back to the same Pharmacy (so they match stock) and be in good shape but they have a desktop cleaner/sterilizer and...
Cool! I like it!
Here is Tia when she had gained lots of weight, but not enough yet.
Because the sun is behind her she looks better in that picture than she was at the time. I'm a really bad photographer, and I don't do it often. Like that must be almost 2 years old and it's the most...
Wow I have a TWH mare, Tia, and that could be her brother! Colour, white star, one white leg and hoof... Hard to say overall build from that photo but he probably has a more refined look to him, she is a bit blocky. Makes her very strong but not suitable for the show ring. His face is nicer...
Interesting! That is identical to the day we did the turkey, kept the BBQ at 200 (monitored with 2) and smoked till the meat was 170 F just like if your cooking in an oven.
Wow looks fantastic. So the smoking time I hear is done by thickness of the cut? We have a smoker option on the BBQ but I can't see the BBQ being cool enough to smoke bacon nice. Do you know what temperature the inside of your smoker get to?
Ever done back bacon, aka Canadian bacon? Hubby...
Thanks for the tips on getting hubby to eat rabbit. I think I'll combine them, don't tell him what he is eating, and then the next day tell him it was lagomorph. :lau
I need to get a small caliber very accurate rifle like a 17 or such to have this fun with. Everything I have right now would...
Deer and moose hunting just getting started here. They of course are harder to find and shorter season, if I was really being more thrifty in this I'd be after the tons of rabbit (snowshoe hare) that are wild in the area, and grouse (ruffed and spruce). Way longer season and you can't go for a...
You can start reading about Salatin here .
Bottom line, he wrote a book about how he rotates stock to make the most out of small space and mostly natural husbandry I think.
:celebrate Sorry your not going to get anything more than the wonderful smell!
Sponge is as mentioned the starter with flour and water or milk left usually overnight, sometimes just a few hours. When you put all the ingredients in it's not sponge. Follow your recipe, they vary, some call for...
IMO having one of anything small and cheep, that tends to run out or fails is silly. I don't think having more than one pen should count as having more than one item. A pen in each room where there is writing done, or near a phone is hardly clutter.
To each their own on this of course, but...
The more I look around the more I figure out that I need to learn to sell stuff on e-bay. Not just buy it. I have stuff I have used and just keep, some I got on e-bay as a great deal rather than new, now I don't need it anymore. Books mostly. Same condition I got them in and still very...
If it's good for you mentally it's more important to you than if you produce socks IMO. If they took up lots of room maybe loose them but for something small I'd keep.
I'll be doing lots of this, have to pack up everything so the house can be repaired (long story, trusses have to be changed)...
I would do that too, and only sour the ones that I want to taste really Mexican. I start those the night before but I just found that after the starter had been in the fridge they never got as sour, no matter how long I left them. Starters should get better with age and mine did not if I...
Sorry, I should quit keeping so many tabs open, I forget who the OP of the thread was.
Life on a slow internet connection, gotta give the pages time to load.
Some breads are. Have you tried making the Almond flour breads? The flax bread suggested at the top is as well. I have a pizza shell I do that is gluten free but does have some corn meal to it, but still overall it would be lower carb. I have put spinach and scrambled eggs on it for brunch...
I used the starter after week one but added yeast to ensure that I was not going to have a flop till the starter was really strong. I just hate throwing out all that flour. I agree in the first week best to throw it out in case you have an unwanted culture.
You need to find in your house a...
Do you have an army surplus in your area? I agree with used or inexpensive outers and any layers under. Undershirts I got at the army surplus here great. Sadly after I decided I liked them best I went back to get more and they are not there. I wanted enough for work too!
I forgot to mention, I never threw out any starter when I was doing sourdough. The bean pot was big enough that I just fed it and then on bread making day used it. I fed the leftover that day, and continued to feed it so the volume built back up, then used it. Mine lived on top of the...
I would try and determine as much as possible what has been done with the human waste on the property in the past. Where did those buckets go to be dumped? If for no other reason than to know where to continue if it seems safe, but also where in relation to the current well, or any irrigation...
