    Avalon1984-Chicken, horses, pigs, oh my!

Hey hqueen13, I will have to look into the definition of refined. It is certainly special, since wax is usually only made of burr comb, and I used honey comb (which is not recommended because it yields much less wax after all the cleansing) but since I had it and didn't want it to go to waste I...

    Is it really that hard?

I just wanted to say that you guys are very impressive in the ways you have found to save on food cost. I am fortunate enough to have never been in such a situation and I cannot imagine what you have gone through. Makes me look at my fridge/freezer/cabinets with different eyes. My cats cost me...

Work from home ideas/ income ideas

I would take it one step at a time. Starting a new farm can be challenging, even if you have the experience. Get one species well established, build up a customer base for that, then start to diversity, and you can use your existing customers to sell your new products too, plus gather new...

Denim Deb Hay, hay, hay. Thank the Lord!

Happy Mothersday Deb :D I like your new signature line by the way. How are the horses doing? Do you go trail riding much? I haven't had much time to do anything, but I think I have my bee situation slowly under control, as well as my brood mare situation. What will I ever do if that is all...

    SSDreamin Blessings and curses

I have had similar experiences like you described. It can be hard because you want to make sure you help a person who truly deserves it. That can be a slippery slope. I actually have had instances were my cc was denied, not for insufficient funds, but because I was switching over and something...

Happy Mothersday everybody!!!! Whew, those last few weeks have been just crazy!!!! Yesterday we picked up our "new" bees for our beehive. It was a lot of fun getting them settled into their new home and start 'new'. Then, when I checked on my bait hives this morning I realized that I had...

Wow, what a start in your morning. Does the barn you keep your horses have some sump pumps? We use those for pumping excess water away. Glad you got the tractor started ;)

So I just received an email from the company I blindly applied to and interviewed for last week- wanting to meet with me today for some good news :weee :ya I am just soooo excited. After 3 years of working for a startup and never hearing a "Thank you" or anything like that, being used like a...

So my beeswax is finally done. Here it is after I melted it. It's slowly cooling Here is the "waste" from maxing wax. That stuff works great on the grill to give the fire a nice aroma. My wax has dried. And here is my finished wax, not much, but a great beginning.
