1. Have a pot of grapes simmering on the stove for juice. Kids helped me pick a 5-gallon pail of wild grapes yesterday.
2. Pot of cinnamon syrup getting ready to boil for my cinnamon apple rings.
3. 2 big bots of apples and pears cooking for applesauce.
We picked a 5-gallon bucket of...
My brother and SIL got the laminate countertop sheet to redo their whole kitchen for less than $30. It cost them more than that for the adhesive to glue it down with.
I just got back from a craft show today.
Here's what I've been seeing this year:
1. Pampered chef, tupperware, watkins, purses, avon
2. Potholders
3. Crocheted hats, afghans
4. Woodcrafts - think log cabiny
5. artwork
6. and the itsy-bitsy category of real crafts, that I fit in. I buy...
1. Another load of apples in the dehydrator.
2. Go to craft show for 8 hours
3. Collapse in chair after being outside for 8 hours
4. Maybe get up enough energy to make supper, otherwise, it's frozen pizza
5. Play a game with the kids
I dragged my husband along to a craft show today. Usually my SIL goes with me, but she was busy today. I told him to go sit in the Jeep and take a nap, but he stuck it out with me. I'm not sure he's ever going to let me live it down. Didn't do great, but didn't do horrible...
I'm going to be doing apples until Christma. Everyone loves apples. I have so many, that if the dehyrdrator is off, something is wrong and I need to get my heinie in gear.
My daughter, 8YO, isn't a very confident reader, so whe tries to use a bookmark. She gets so stuck on going word to word that she has no comprehension, at all. She loves it when I read to her, but she needs to work on her fluency and her reading comprehension. It really has helped to be able...
Lots of hay around us, too. I've got guys around us selling 1st crop round bales, 800# avg for $25, 2nd crop for $35. I see some of the prices you guys pay for hay and just cringe.
Ok, now I want to look at the darn book and I go to the library's website to put it on hold and they have 4 copies in our library system and all 4 are checked out and I'm the 4th one in line for hold. By the time I get it, I'm going to forget why I put it on hold. No, I'll blame it on here! ;)
This is very cool. NOT something we need to get into right now, even though my husband is back in to doing leather-working and letting the kids do it. I'm pretty amazed that even the 3YO is pretty good at WHACKING the leather scraps he lets her have, nobody has been injured, yet! I even know...
The good news is that my 8YO said she didn't even need the tylenol this morning and her head only hurt when she touched it. Still out of gym for the rest of the week. I did about die when I was cutting grass yesterday and my 5YO -the one with the staples in her head - was hanging upside down...
Just went and got a bucket of pears for $6!!! 5-gallon bucket of all kinds of Asian pears. They look incredible and the best thing is that they are still hard as rocks, so I have a few days to take care of them! I like adding them to my applesauce, because the pears sure do sweeten it. Plus...
Yesterday: 18 pints of applesauce, and that was starting it, then 5YO putting gash into her head, turning off cooking apples, taking daughter to ER for staples, coming home and finishing cooking and then canning.
Today:
1. Take kid to Dr's appt, then to school, then go to hubby's work for health risk assessment, to find out I'm fat - I knew that!
2. Clean tomato cages and soaker hoses from the garden.
3. Cut grass - hopefully for the last time
4. Pick some apples, need to dehydrate more and can a whole...
I got it! I love my ovens. I have 6 racks between them, and last year, the neighbor and I cranked out 25 dozen cutout cookies in a little over 2 hours.
I am Traci aka Bimpnottin. I belong to the MeSSy Kitchen Club.
My favorite kitchen tool are the awesome chef's knife and paring knife my SIL got when she was stationed in Germany. I love those knives. :love
My most helpful appliance is my dishwasher. That and my extra deep sink basins...
I'm starting to wonder :duc. Actually they put the table up for silent auction, so the highest bid won.
I want a drink, but have bloodwork tomorrow, so shouldn't, but let me tell you, it's REALLY TEMPTING!
