Super Dooper Easy.
Make a simple syrup. I generally do mine equal parts water to sugar, cook until dissolved.
Pack sliced fruit into sterilized canning jars. I like pints, easier to go through.
Add up to 3 Tbsp of good brandy to each pint. (Tried it it with only 1 1/2 and that wasn't enough...
I've got to find the Farm Journal cookbook that has the recipes for the cinnamon rings and the brandied apples and I will be happy to post the recipes for you.
Even if I don't like plums, my husband and kids do, but it's also the fact that it was SUPPOSED to be a cherry tree like I asked for...
Yesterday, got stuff done, but sure doesn't look like it in the house.
Did some dishes. Woohoo.
Then, was getting ready to start laundry, until my Dad called to figure out how to fix a problem on his camera. Seriously, like I know? But, I knew what he wanted and he didn't like the answer...
Yeah,
Spent the weekend away from home with my husband's family for a wedding - Worst. Family. Trip. Ever (except for about a bazillion pictures of the kids with great grandma) - however, that will have to come another time, if I feel like getting mad and reliving the weekend from HE!!. :th...
Rain, rain, go away!
We've had 5 inches in the last 5 days. Forget about the yard being squishy, I've got lakes! We have a depression in the backyard that is roughly 25 x 15 x 1 deep (never been able to figure out what used to be there) and that sucker is overflowing. :barnie Last year...
:hugs
It's not easy, but it sounds like you will have some really cool things to remember Grandma with and pass on to your kids.
I was thrilled when we were able to get artwork that Gram had done, and she was an excellent artist, painting, clay, etc. So, we have quite a few of her paintings...
My Dad has 16 baby Muscovies so far, and 4 other ducks sitting. :D Told hubby that we have to fix the chicken coop, aka - tear down the front part that's dangerous, so we can get to the coop and build them some fence, so the neighbor's dogs won't get them. He chases the cats, so I just...
TOR -
I love your journal! I can just "hear" you speaking as you write.
So, absolutely on the your journal, your rules. Wouldn't be the same if they weren't your rules.

Only if there is such a thing as an 8 year old silencer! :plbb But seriously, hubby wasn't a sniper but won military marksman awards and the dumb thing was only 10 feet away from the deck. We could throw the shotgun at it and probably have hit it, and he wouldn't have had a problem with...
Hmmm,
This is my garage:
This is what was on my garage this morning:
This is the reason it was on my garage roof this morning:
(Black and White it the BEST mouser EVER :D - and apparently, pheasant treer - her name is Bluster. When she was a baby, she would hiss and spit at you, then...
Getting veggies already (sigh) :barnie and already being able to can. (Ok, technically, I will be canning my asparagus, if my butt gets in gear) but my tomaters are finally reaching the bottom rung of their towers. Think I need to redo the zukes and cukes. We won't have anything to pick until...
Still raining. I might have to wade out to the garden later and pick the strawberries that were almost ready the other day, but not quite. So, better pick them before they turn to mush on the plants.
Have a plastic grocery bag of asparagus to take care of. Think I might try pickled...
We NEVER regret seeing the great grandma. She was THRILLED on Mother's Day when she was in the hospital and we dropped everything, got the kids ready, and drove over the 5 hours to see her. Her - we would do anything for. The MIL, not-so-much.
That was a mild MIL rant. Thinking about her pretty much pi$$es me off, so I try not to do it. Don't even get me started on my SIL who is pregnant to avoid being deployed and won't call it a baby, but calls it "gote" as in zygote. Yeah, could be an interesting weekend with me not popping the...
