Interesting thread... for sure. :D
Co-owners of the company I work for constantly use the "I seen" instead of I saw. ( I seen two deers out back last night) I've been there 9 years and now I catch myself saying it. Arrrrggg.
One of the employees there recently had a "colosapy".
Another one once...
Thanks Mark. The pitcher was my moms so it isn't going anywhere and it doesn't take much space in the safe. Perhaps I will stumble on further info down the road. :fl
Hoping someone can help... I have a pitcher by Reed and Barton it is numbered 2925 and marked "silver soldered". I have no Idea what that means or whether it has any value scrap or otherwise. I did a search on their website and came up with nothing.
I would assume that would mean a low grade...
Sure Al. You can buy hole saws for that specific application but if you only need to drill one hole you might better look into renting one. They may still require you to buy the bit (they don't last forever) but it would be cheaper than buying the entire saw or pouring a new slab. PS depending...
Been a while since I have posted but summer is a hectic time around here. I work outdoors all summer and I drink a lot of powerade on the job. I use the empty bottles to store sugar ( I make wine so I have stocked up about 75 lbs worth) flour and water ( flour and water bottles are stored in an...
The only mushrooms I know of are the ones my dad used to hunt... Buttons and Morels. He always used to say that if there was evidence that bugs were eating a mushroom they were safe for us to eat. Just an old wives tale or true fact?
I suspect that even if it were true it would not give any...
WZ ... giving him a break Eh? 10 silver dimes would only cost him $32.70.
MetalSmitten... I have heard the argument that " you can't eat silver" on numerous occasions. kOxxx pointed out on another thread that precious metals can be sold for whatever currency is accepeted and used to pay taxes ...
The market closed with silver at $45.23. Ten dollars above the price when I started this thread.
Gold at $1502.00
WZ... that "real" dollar (a morgan) will cost hubby $34.96. If he can find it at that price, Silver eagles are selling around $50.00. Now you need to bet him we will see $3000.00 by...
Years ago (1980) after a tornado hit Kalamazoo a friend of mine hooked a commercial size generator to his house and forgot to throw his main. He lit up his entire block. :D The neighbors thought the power was restored. They were very disappointed when he finally threw the main and cut them off...
Boogity... Ever wonder what your life would have been like had you stayed on the farm?
I too served Vietnam era. I really didn't settle down until the mid nineteys got my own place (30 acres) and started building. Little by little it is taking shape.

abi... I have a Briggs and Stratton 5550 watt 30 amp generator extended run (holds 7 gallons of gas and runs 13 hours). More than enough to power my three bedroom ranch home and the well. I have an electric water heater that I cannot leave on when using the generator but I can shut everything...
"Salting" of coins and bullion goes back a long way. Back in the early 1800's they used to shave coins as well. The problem is that the only way to be absolutely sure your coin is not salted is to drill it and assay the contents of the shavings which destroys the value of the coin.
You can be...
It isn't a health care issue it is a tax loophole issue bundled in the bill.
Tanks there are 1/4 oz and 1/10 ounce gold coins. Obviously the smaller the coin the better IMO. This is also a good reason to take a serious look at silver.
BTW The current law does not require reporting unless the...
Whatever you decide to do... DO NOT take it to a "cash for gold" store they are notorious ripoffs. I hope you don't cash it in but should you decide you must, take it to a reputible coin dealer.
Gold is and has always been a way to preserve wealth. While inflation surges gold will always retain...
Definately! Currently a nickel is worth 7.1 cents. A penny minted prior to 1982 is currently worth 2.95 cents. That is purely the value of the metal comprising the coin.

While you are at it make certain you are not turning in ANY silver coins minted prior to 1964.
The way the metals are moving we may see 1500 by the end of the month,
I buy twenty dollars worth of nickles every time I cash my paycheck, some folks have reported being charged a premium for buying large quantities. Nothing like that here yet.
A few years ago I used to throw all my pennies...
Bankers control all the money. FDA wants control of all the food. Obama wants control of our health. State of Michigan wants control of my well.
Soon the EPA will make it illegal for chickens to poop in the backyard.
The only one that has no control is the honest hard working citizen.
