Well, i'm pretty sure, the beechs still have thier leaves, not all, but a few, as do the oaks. I may need, an outside viewpoint, on some of my longterm projects though. I never get things started, cause I cant figure out where the best place to put it would be.

We have alot of 2' + dia maples, I think I may try making syrup. So, i'll only use downed ones to burn then! I take it, that any tree that looses leaves, is fine to use.

What do you burn in your woodstove, besides oak and cherry? It's a good thing, that I came here, because now I plan on not cutting my maples down!

A Welding shop should have a sandblaster. I do have one, got it from my welder friend.i use it more, cause i'm cheap. I'm more of a tinkerer, I fiddle with old rusty stuff! He buys new stuff, cause he can. Thanks to all for the answers. Btw, i've been using my iron on a glasstop for 12 yrs!

I would just like to know how everyone cleans their cast iron. I need to reseason mine, cause I dont think I did it right to begin with. I've had my 10" lodge, for 12 years, still looking for an old gris. I have many other smaller ones, n they all need to be reseasoned, picked them up second...

I think my mother inlaw, has a silicone baking pan! Goes in the oven, right on the rack. I will double check tommorow.

I have not, but may soon. I lost 6 hens in the last week,due to fox/racoon. No more free ranging. That's about 5 miles down the road from me! Well, I got 7 dozen eggs in the fridge, so no immedoate need for more hens. Could use some guneas though.
