I use a whole bar of soap ( pink zote ) , and a cup and 1/2 to 2 cups of both borax and color safe powdered bleach ( and add washing soda when i can find it )
I breastfed 5 babies to between a 1 year and 18 months except for baby number 2, who got cut off at 8 months because he was a viscious biter and drew blood a few times! :he Soooooooo much cheaper and healthier for the babe. Easier for the mum too !
My extended family are all capable of being fairly self sufficient . They all have woodstoves , gardens, can, hunt ,fish , and most of them raise their own meat or have done so in the past . I think here it would be a team effort . Between all of us we have a multitude of barns , about 40...
That's just sickening , as a grandma , my heart goes out to you. We've had to deal with bad parent with our only grandchild, who is 1 1/2 . Thankfully she was finally taken from the mother by CPS and our son now has sole custody. We were worried sick every day our grand babe was in her care...
A hammer that was my grandfathers that is about 50 years old. I love it because it has his name engraved in the wood of the handle. He passed away about 18 years ago and it the only thing I have that was his.
I always make twice the crust recipe I need so they can get cookies. My mom did just the extra leftover too , but with 5 kids that never went far at my house lol , especially when 4 of them are boys !
We stock Tang mix and we can tomatoes, and between those two we wouldn't get scurvy I hope :P My canned jam is there for when I have sweet tooth . I've also tested it as a sweetener for my tea in place of sugar. It's has peach floaters , but it makes good tea , lol.

I make these for the kids every time I make pie , and my mom used to make them for us as kids too. We cut ours into lil squares with a pizza cutter. My kids are always more excited about getting pie crust cookies than they are about the pie.
Popcorn is another of their favorite snacks as is...
