We have a problem with raccoons around here. They raid people's trash all the time. I checked on the bin when I took the dog out to the bathroom and it had been tipped over. I'm going to have to figure out how to keep it standing upright and possibly add a lid, or get a different bin.

I have an unlimited supply of coffee grounds since I work in a bookstore/cafe. Is this considered a "green" or a "brown" in compost? I've heard you can simply mix it straight into your soil and it won't hurt the plants, but I wanted to make sure.

Humane is causing little to no pain during the process of raising, catching, hunting, and slaughtering meat animals. So leg traps and the like are a no.

I only know of one true butcher in the area but I'll give the yellow pages a look. He only sells "prime cuts" and doesn't sell anything else. I live in the suburbs of Richmond, Va, so I'll have some looking to do to find someone who humanely raises meat animals.

Roadkill is a no for me. I'm trying to find any way to get humanely raised meat, especially if hunters can't sell me wild game. Is there a reason behind it?
