It was great to have some rain yesterday, but it almost killed two of my bell peppers. I will have to check everything again tomorrow morning. Seemed OK this morning though, so I think they will make it despite the betting they got from the rain. They are still just sooo tiny. Grow already wouldya!!
One of the three buds I think are gonna be eggplants

View of the entire yard. Yes this is all of it. That is our fig tree and the peabarrow is in the background. Don't know if you can really see that.
I have a few more pics I'll post later. Hubby just told me to get dressed so...
thanks ff. That's why I want to get it done. It helps ya to get organized and set up a game plan. If not you just tend to do a little of this and a little of that and nothing ever gets finished. Or, at least you never feel like your getting anywhere. I want to see the check marks on the paper...
Let's see. What's on today's to do list. Eat Breakfast, go to home depot for replacement tomato and bell pepper plants then plant them (I've lost two more tomatoes and it's getting too late to keep replanting. never gonna get to can anything at this rate) weed gardens, re-pot several plants...
I think it's great that you guys are finding one more use for your birds after they have been processed. The less that goes to waste the better. Have you read about where a lot of these stylists are getting the feathers? It's the same feathers that they use to make fly fishing lures. In most of...
A good friend of mine grew up on a ranch in south TX. Her dad had two GPs to guard the meat goats he raised. They lived with the herd and were not supposed to be pets, but my friend was always getting in trouble for sneak'n 'em treats and playing with them. She even sneaked on of them in the...
We were lucky. We did have a slide out and a handicap accessible bathroom (my husband is partially disabled because he has some pretty bad issues with his back and his his right knee) so even though the trailer, if I remember correctly, was something like 32 foot long, we had plenty of room...
Sounds like a great time to me, but I guess that is why I am studying interior design! After Katrina while we rebuilt our house I lived in a FEMA trailer for 19 months with my husband and Franklin. He was our 180 English Mastiff. I laugh when some of our friends talk about how hard it was living...
Well, not really anything to report, but if I don't get on here at least a few times a week I'll just stop writing here all together and I'd like to keep it going. So, warning, this post may be boring. There are are few things I have been thinking about do'n. First, and it's a big one, hubby and...
:( I feel like a super slacker. The only thing SS related I manage to accomplish is yelling at my veggies to grow. You are really out there get'n it done! :bow
We have one near me. In fact it is on my way to work. We also have a similar place called The Green Project. It's been a while since I have been to either one, but the Habitat Restore, now it's been a while, but I remember my hubby saying we could get some of the stuff new at those prices. I'd...
:barnie We won't hit ya, or at least I won't, but I can't stand those fake Cajun accents! Or even worse is when they have the characters talking with a southern accent in New Orleans. A lot of movies and t.v. shows that are based down here I just can't watch. I also used to date a guy that grew...
Yeah, the dogs do a good job of keeping varmints out. My big dog is almost 70 lbs. I don't worry too much about him out there, but little Ricky is only 19 lbs, much more vicious in the attack and won't give up, so I worry about him get'n ahold of a big ole possum without his big bro around to...
Last night's score: Dogs 1 - Possums 0. Ricky got a penalty (a bath) for unnecessary roughness.
Not much to report other than the possum murder. Just keep'n everything watered. Everyone else has been canning and I am still out there yelling at the stuff to hurry up and grow already. I did...
I really think my bigger dog, Beaux, could be trained. He already knows "drop it" and mostly responds to it. If I start enforcing more, then "leave it" wouldn't be that hard to add. I actually started with this one when he was a puppy, but didn't stick to it. If I see him going for something I...
