Would your extended family want to mooch off you?

My inlaws live far away!!! My biological family that is left hates each other and me with a purple passion! They would destroy this place worse than any attack from rebels or looters with their fighting. They can fend for themselves. Most people would run when they saw them coming anyway...

    Dealing with trespassers/vandals

Thank you Beekissed! :) And you are right about the beware of dog signs. It means you know your pet can bite. In Oklahoma you could get sued if someone came over your fence and you had warning signs about your dog and they got bit. Stupid laws.

    Home vet care...

I hope your kitty gets better soon! Talk to your vet and get a cost estimate. Also most vets take payments. I have never done surgery on a critter myself. You're alot braver than me! Any supplies you need try www.kvvet.com or www.jefferspet.com both companies are excellent.

Everyone, no offense taken. I do prep but I'm not fanatical about it. I pick up extra cans of whatever is on sale that we use often and try to make it so that if the power goes out for a legth of time all will be calm here. That failed miserably when the power was out recently. The kids were...

Top 100 Items to Disappear First During a National Emergency

Things like a washboard are what I would be using today had the power not come back on. We were without power but not without the task of clearing out downed trees and getting our clothes filthy while cutting, carrying and stacking the wood. Things for barter like cigarettes or booze ... if...

    generators

We live in Ohio also and that wind storm got us. Dh went to WV to get a generator. All the stores were out of them from here to there. And they were flying off the shelves there. We got a 6200 watt John Deere. Its pretty quiet really compared to the lawn mower. It started on the first...

Kind of obvious - Hang out your clothes

My clothes line met the truck. Truck won! Dh said "It'll go right under the line." Not. So now I need to redo it! I needed a better one anyway. :) I was drying the clothes on the line then putting them in the dryer for 5 minutes to get the pollen off them (we have allergies).

    Dealing with trespassers/vandals

First ... I am not cruel or insane (just a bit looney). Barbed wire....great stuff. We keep it on low levels across the path by the house just the right level to trip someone. If it is high enough to get a throat you might get in trouble. Also shotgun traps are nice...
