    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

Thanks for the info! I think I will get 500 meal worms instead of 1000, I like to save money when I can. The superworms sound scary , I'll definitely stay away from those.

    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

With my family's help, I put in another vent in the main chicken coop and put a tarp over the broody pen. I've had lots of problems with the main coop, I just can't seem to get enough ventilation in it. Hopefully the tarp will keep the silkies fairly dry. They are horrible about standing in the...

Here is where I'm getting the meal worms from: http://unclejimswormfarm.com/index.php/MealWorms/Mealworms-FREE-SHIPPING/flypage.tpl.html Question, is 500 meal worms enough to start out with, or should I go ahead and pay $5.95 more to get 1000 meal worms?

    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

Thanks for the info! I got carrots instead of strawberries since you said they like them, and since I figure they won't attract flies like strawberries will. I checked Walmart this morning for mill worms, but all they have is night crawlers. It's good to know that the beetles won't fly, I was a...

    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

I've decided to start raising mill worms. I want to have them to feed to the chickens and to sell. I will be ordering them Wednesday so that they will ship when the weather is not so hot. I will keep the mill worms in a glass tank with oats (the kind of oats that you get at the supermarket) and...

    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

I have finally made my mind up. This is significant, because it takes me forever to make my mind up. :P I am going to keep one small group of bantams that I have now, probably 4 or 5 hens and 1 rooster and get rid of the rest. I will sell 3 silkie hens and one sizzle rooster. The bantams I will...

    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

I found a new home for my black mottled bantam cochin rooster that had starting attacking me and delivered him to his new home today. The lady that took him has had chickens for years and is very well equipped to handle him. It is a major relief to have him gone since I was going to have to put...

    acne remedies

I agree with you. Genetics play a big part. I know a guy who eats out all the time, greasy stuff like cheap pizza, and doesn't have acne at all. However, eating healthy and taking care of yourself can help reduce the problem to some degree. Subscribed pills from the dermatologist can also help.

    acne remedies

I have had problems with acne as well. Some zits have been really painful. I've experimented in detail on what causes break outs at my own expense. Sodas, sweets, stress, lack of sleep, fast food, a bad diet, too many sugary drinks (ex. sweet tea, juices, etc.), really acidic fruits like kiwis...

    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

I packed my lunch for tomorrow. I'm trying to eat a healthier more natural diet and plus I'm trying to save money. Packing my own lunch should save me at least 50 cents a day which will add up over time. 2 strawberries sliced in lime juice (hopefully to help preserve them), a banana, some trail...

    Erin's Journal- Turning Frugal

Yesterday, my brother and his girl friend found a little kitten in the park. He's real cute and friendly and is white with black spots. They named him Grizzly (don't ask me, I've no idea) and brought him to me. I accepted since he's a couple months old and is eating solid food. So, now I have a...
