ldychef, I usually smoke mine and then I take the drippings from the pan or use turkey broth to fill the jar up after filling it with the smoked meat. My family loves it that way. Happy canning!:)
I always use an electric knife too. I have a question though about making sandwich bread. Do you all get yours to turn out the same consistency of regular white sandwich bread like you buy from the store? I have come pretty close but it's usually more dense than that of the store bought bread...

I canned turkey broth at Thanksgiving and at Christmas and both times they bubbled for along time after they were turned off and still did even after I set them out on a towel. I was kinda worried about them but they turned out fine.
