Well, I might as well chime in on the TSC chicken neewbies.
I was behind a guy at check out, and he had a "boat load" of chicken stuff, 2 - 50# bags of feed, 50# bag of corn, feeders, waterers, and a box of fluffy peeps. But the last thing he put on the belt, cracked me up... wait for...
Yep, almost everyone thinks we renamed him after the accident
But he does get around so well, he still runs and jumps and carries on like a BIG pup. The vet told us it "might" cut down on his overall life expectacy, but we'll just go w/ it and see where it takes us!!
I've been reading...
Hi SD :frow
Thanks for checking in!!! We like Lefty too. We almost put him down when he got hit, but he was getting around so well w/ his leg in a sling, we decided to take a chance. So far so good, but the vet (who is GREAT) warned us that it might be hard on him as he gets older, being such a...
Hey Deb, :frow We love old barns too!! That was one of the things that drew us to the property, and when they said they were going to tear it down, we were like NOOOOooooo, but we saved it.
I thought I did, but I can't find them, I'm having Momma try to find them for me, and will post them...
Momma and I flew out there last May (I think it was May) We had some free airfare that we had to use, so Momma and I made it a 4 day week end in Denver, went up to Dillion 1 day, spent another day just driving thru the mountains, ended up at Golden, CO took the Coors Tour WHOOT!!

The last time we were camping there, a small herd of wild hogs just wandered into our camp, we were up there w/ 6-8 couples, had a couple of campers, multple tents. It was redneck heaven, a couple of guys brought a couplee couches, and just sat them out by the fire, we were sitting around...
Gleno, You'll get there!! we just walked in on it. The only thing we've done inside the barn is the chicken and rabbit rooms, the goat side of the barn was all set up, not sure what they raised, I'm thinking dairy by other things we've found in there.
Look Close, she started to poop just as I took the picture. :th
She just kidded about 2-3wks ago, she hasn't lost her baby fat yet :/
That's only about half the rabbits, we have another row of cages were all the does are, I just couldn't get a shot I liked.
We used to go camping up in the Ocala National Forest every spring, 'bout this time of year, before it got real hot.. we also went to Micanopy for the week-end 2-3 times can't remember. We'd go driving around SR301, looking at horse farms, and all I can say is WOW!!! I wish I could afford just...
We do too!!!
After we bought the place, got to talking w/ my FIL, and found out that Momma's Great-Great grandparents built it back in 1901, so I was EXTREMELY happy we stood our ground. It just needed a little attention and TLC, but it was still straight and the roof didn't leak!!
We put all...
I got a little snap happy w/ the camera when I took pic's of the new buckling last week, so I figured I'd let ya see a couple more from The Trout Pond.
Most of these are inside our 100+yr old timberframe barn, that they were going to tear down right before we bought the place. I told them if...
That is our dog Lefty, he's about a month old in that pic, I have an older pic on my journal. He's a Anatolian Shepard / Great Pyrenees cross, and is GREAT w/ my kids!!!
It is for those who don't have to get up and report to the "corperate monkey" :barnie I can't wait until I get my dream job = professional lottery winner :love
Our house smelled like that chick "funk" last week, but we moved them to the barn the middle of the week, now it's just the regular...
Hey Gleno :)
Just finished your journal.
Did you hold your gun sideways for the "killshot" and I know how you like Snoop Dogg, so did you go all ghetto rap on him?
The soaps you make look awesome, how much milk do you use for a "batch"? Man, there are soooo many more question I could...
