Hello, we're located in Craig county, 14 miles from Newport, 27 miles from Va Tech (Blacksburg)

yesterday we put up 8 quarts green beans. Today we did 14 quarts and 1 pint tomatoes. Hopefully by Wednesday we'll have double that amount to can. I will be leavnig green beans on the vine til they dry this year. I want to try "leather britches".

I didn't weigh down in the jars. It had plenty of liquid covering when I started. the basement temp is between 60 and 65 degrees all the time. I look at it again, but I know my DH will have his reservations about it now. I think I'll try the gallon crock next time. Thanks
