What household product can you do without?

I don't use anything with artificial scents. No air fresheners. No scented personal products either. That stuff is toxic! For cleaning I use water, vinegar, bon-ami, unscented dishwash soap and rarely bleach. I can do without a microwave and dishwasher but I like my cloths dryer! I wish I...

    Fermenting question--hummus

That is one long thread! Maybe we need a shorter step by step thread to walk us new fermenters through.

A year is a long time! I appreciate all the insight you have shared with us. You can get so much more out of a verse the longer it takes you to get through it. The Bible is so rich with knowledge!

The part that stood out to me were the last 2 verses in the chapter: Galatians 1:23-24 They only heard the report:"The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." And they praised God because of me. The fact that the formerly persecuted Christians were...

I think that is for today but we could continue with the same passage for 2-3 days. Maybe we should get BarredBuffs opinion since he started this!

Matthew is a great book to start with. Should we skip through and just choose certain passages or are you thinking more of an expository study?

I think we should keep it simple with maybe a small passage of scripture to read daily and comment on. That way people can feel free to drop in without a lot of pressure.

I find it interesting that an angel of the Lord appeared to the nearby shepherds to announce the birth of the Christ.

True Wifezilla. The reason I mention 3 was because of tradition and the mention of 3 different gifts.

Think about this. Why do you think God chose the place and circumstances he did for the Birth of Jesus?

The Magi from the east, also known as the three wise men, were not present at the time of Jesus's Birth. They arrived approximately 2 years later finding the location by following the star. They brought gifts which I believe helped finance their journey to Egypt Where they went to hide from...

BarredBuff - Why don't you start with a verse and/or maybe a question and then maybe we can comment on it?

I think we should be open to all versions of the bible because some people may only have a different version and we don't want to leave anyone out.

I need to mark my chooks...suggestions?

I use different color tie wraps. Also known as zip ties. Those are the ties electricians use to hold a bunch of wires together. I got some from the dollar store.

I did it all by myself. PROJECT #2

That is great! I have gone to the junk yard for parts for vehicles. It is a lot cheaper and usually not too hard to do. Since you usually have to take the part off the salvaged vehicle, you learn how to do it.

Is there any point in knowing the temperature of a fever?

Higher temperatures fevers tend to be bacterial infections and lower temperature fevers tend to be viral infections if that makes any sense. So that could have a bearing on what you do to treat the person. I think it is good to let the fever get high enough to kill whatever it is but not let...

A hawk got my duck. How do I process it?

I do have a covered pen for them but they just happened to be free-ranging this morning. Believe me, the rest were all hiding but when I went looking for them and they were happy for me to lead them to their pen. They would not go out in the open without my protection. Hopefully they are all...
