    Cartoons

Another very subversive cartoon is Boondocks. They don't try to hide it, and they are quite in-your-face. It's usually on late in the evening, but if they have a set time, I've yet to find when that is.

    The "New" Retirement

Part of the irony that's inherent in their shenanigans, the "teabaggers" are protesting the tax program that was enacted by Bush and the republican congress last year. I think that's pretty clueless, but not as clueless as what they are calling themselves...:D If the majority of teabaggers want...

    Bake Sale Imminent!!

Those whoopie pies sound absolutely delectable!!! I think those would definitely be a hit at the bake sale. You wouldn't happen to have the recipe, would you?

    Fourteen?

Yet another magazine has her on the cover. I swear she looks crazier as time goes on. It could have just been a teaser, but the headline said she's considering having more kids:eek:. Heaven help us.

    The Ocean

Thanks, Frankie. Now I know why my father is eighty five years old and swims in the ocean with such impunity.:D

    Hey Mr Easter Bunny!

The gift card, especially:D!!!Your chocolate chip pizza I've never heard of, but it sounds intriguingly delicious! The Easter Bunny always brings me Robin's Eggs, but none were to be found anywhere around here! I am hoping the after-Easter candy sale might yield a pack or two. No robin's eggs, I...

    The "New" Retirement

Confidence Perhaps it is largely a matter of acting with confidence by taking chances with ideas. While many over-50s have seen their retirement funds eroded, I don't think that they'll be content to simply lower their expectations. I think they'll find clever and resourceful ways to continue...

What should the goverment stop funding?

Looking elsewhere I believe that part of the problem is that we tend, as a nation, to simply look inward while there are tons of examples internationally to give us ideas. The Dutch seem to have sorted out their cannabis problems and most European nations seem to take a more relaxed view about...

    Bake Sale Imminent!!

Katharina, I know about rice crispy treats but I've never heard of a Whoopie pie (great name, by the way!) What are these made from?

    Hey Mr Easter Bunny!

Katharina, the Easter bunny can make up identical Easter baskets, one for you and one for me!

    Hey Mr Easter Bunny!

What is it that you would most like the Easter Bunny to leave in your basket?

    Does recession hit your pocket?

I heard on the news today that the recession is actually very good for the Harlequin romance books. Their profit is up something like 30%. A little romance and escapism seems to be popular now. As to how the recession from the personal view, my husband gets more work the worse it gets. Ironic.

Who is your favourite late night host?

Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters were totally surreal together! I used to wonder what Robin used to think about working with his childhood hero? Alot of us don't get to have that kind of dream fulfilled.

    Bake Sale Imminent!!

It's funny, I just made a banana cream pie the other day and I never thought of it for the bake sale. If you buy the ready-made graham cracker crust you not only have a time saver, but turn the plastic lid over and you have a nice sturdy cover for your pie. I'm wondering though, how long whipped...

    Saving while looking good...

My hair is long and thick, and alot of times I wear part of it back or put it up with a claw or banana clip. I have tons of barrettes, clips, etc. I'll have a look through my box and find a clip I haven't used in a long time, so it feels fresh. Or, if I'm feeling a bit off, I'll go out and buy...

    Potluck Recipes (needed)

Once for a potluck I made a dozen muffins, and the first few people took two apiece; so much for my contribution:confused:. With a garlic bread you've got alot more pieces for more servings, plus if you've made it nice and spicy people will restrict themselves.

    The Ocean

Yes Boardmaker, you're right! We live a couple of miles from the ocean, and at night, we can hear it. I love to wake up in the middle of the night and listen to the waves. It's a great way to get back to sleep, lulled by the ocean.

Who is your favourite late night host?

We used to love it when Johnny Carson had Rodney Dangerfield on. They could keep everyone in stitches! For a time we lived in the middle of a big city, and on summer nights when people left their windows open, you could hear everyone in the neighbourhood laughing at Johnny and Rodney!

How Would You Like Your Mother-In-Law...

Keep telling yourself that, Frankie. You might even put it to music: "Four more years, four more years, good gawd y'awl, four more years...! We'll just keep singing the eight year version...! So tell me, your in-laws, they're Democrats, eh? :p;)
