So many people are missing the whole point of the season! What do they think Christmas is all about? Lining the pockets of people who hold stock in retail stores??
A couple of years ago, my 7 year old son got a knitted cap from my aunt. He's got others, but it's the only one he wears. He likes it because it's long enough that he can cuff it to make a double layer, so keeps his ears warmer.
I know the season is over when I see a combine or chopper in every corn field I pass on my way to town, in addition to those I have to try to get around on the road. This time of year, the farmers own the roads around here.
Also, the trees are nearly naked, the daylight hours are shrinking...
I go to this site a lot for all my dehydrating questions. She says 120 - 125 degrees for mushrooms, taking 8-10 hours. I did that last year, and they turned out great.

Am I correct that the extrusion process is only for turning grains into cold cereals - making puffs, shreds, flakes...? Cereal you have to cook (ie: oatmeal) doesn't go through the process, does it?
By accident!
I took DS and his friend to the movies, expecting to buy tickets to Shrek for the three of us. When we got there, we discovered it was a "free day" at the theater :ya
I did spring for snacks, though :pop
Here's our almost-finished 12x12 chicken coop:
Next project is building a decent fence.
4x12 Entrance/Storage area. On the left side there are little wooden sliding doors, letting us reach into the nests for eggs without going all the way in.
Roosts - we made them move-able to make...
We just built a 12x12 chicken house. We divided it: 12x8 for the 15 chickens (maybe a few more next year) and 12x4 for storage. They seem to have plenty of space.
