I think you have hit on a wonderful idea. Make sure you adjust the wattage of the bulb to minimize the fire hazard. I still use my old cookie tin with a light inside for freeze protection and it has served me well for many years. I have a 25 watt bulb in there and it has eliminated all...
Blaundee - I owe you an apology. When I first read your post I thought to myself 'what a silly topic'. But after further consideration I now think your post not only provides food for thought but it also provides a discussion topic that we could all get behind to eliminate one more...
Hi Okra. I think it's hard for everyone to pin down a specific reason for prepping. I do think that most of us feel that tiny nagging way down deep in our souls that tells us that something isn't right. Of course being ready for disasters is only smart and a part of life. But I have noticed...
I have seen instructions many times on the 'net and most people emphasize the rinsing part. I wonder why. I have sprouted grains for many years and I never rinse. Does it do something that I'm missing out on? I, too, like to use the small plastic garden store flats for making my sprout mats...
Go to a dealer that has a range in their store. They are very helpful and will easily measure your draw length and determine you're pull strength. Bow shooting is a lot of fun and a great way to get some sunshine, exercise, and fresh air during the winter months. But I have to caution you -...
Hey chill out everyone. A petition to secede from the union is nothing more than a protest. I wish all the states would each get a million people to sign. Don't you know that the states are not allowed to secede?
I signed the on-line petition. I didn't realize it was on-line only. Duh!
OK Federal government, come and get me. I seriously doubt the government is capable.
I searched all over the 'net to find out how to find a petition to sign. My state is one that supposedly has a petition to secede and I want to sign it. In fact I want to help the cause and get others to sign.
Look at these idiots . . . The Weekly Standard
I say HA Ha Ha - come and get me.
Thanks everyone. I can see that I need to save my nickles and dimes 'cause I think she would really like a good heavy duty mixer. I have found some pretty good offers on craigslist in our area.
I don't think Marianne "bumped" this thread. I think she was simply indicating her interest in this topic. She is in her seat eating her popcorn and waiting for the show to start.
Yeah, we have eaten some awful stuff at deer camp over the years. But it sure tastes good after a cold morning in a tree stand.
We have a steel wood stove like the one you have in the picture in our living room and we cook on it often in the winter. Mostly stews, soups, or anything else you...
Emerald's thread has me thinking about getting a KitchenAid mixer for our kitchen (where else, silly?). But they are soooo expensive and I need to really seriously weigh the pros and cons of this kind of purchase as we are on a very strict budget. DW makes pies, cakes, and other misc. pastries...
If she is an avid reader she deserves a Kindle. Just think . . . no more lugging books around, no more trips to the bookstore, and no more trips to the library. I would guess that 99% of the users love them and 1% say they miss the feel and smell of paper books. You can download 'Kindle for...
Yeah I'm not allowing for the cooler weather - so you may be right. I used to always put my big bowl of mixture on the water heater in our utility room where the temperature was a steady 80F all the time. But for some strange reason I left the bowl on the dining table this time. Time will tell.
