I have a strong preference to Tar shampoo and soap. In my past life when I traveled for work, I would stock up in Finland for cheap. When I ran out of that I found Grandpa's brand Tar Shampoo and soap. I like them but the are very very pricey and only can get it on the net.

Good points farmfresh.. I agree.. Yes Rabbit manure is very special stuff.. Do you recall if goat manure is also safe to use fresh? (Some where I have a link that covers all the different manuers..) Also your point about using fresh cow or horse manure and the weed seed potential is a good...
I over did it with the ashes in one gardern. Only kale would grow, real short and dark dark green. Did not get to eat it because the deer ate it first.

Super simple, get a case of canning jars boil in hot water, pull out pour hot syrup in and screw on the lid. As the cool you will hear "pop" as the jar seals.. It is good to go then...

Yup, one can tap anything in the maple family. (Boxelder included) Just have to boil off more water as the sugar content is lower than in Sugar Maple.. As stated birch family can be tapped too. I have not tried it but I hear Yellow birch syrup is very good.
