IDK but the ants won't eat sugar any more either...I've noticed this for several years and often wondered myself. They literally avoid it like the plague.
I had been using plain bread yeast for a long time with much success but the 5 gallons I have going now are with red star "Premier Cuve'e" wine yeast. This stuff went crazy! When it started going full tilt I was afraid it might blow up! I use peaches from our trees, blackberries from our bushes...
You can use rooting powder to graft your own multi-fruit trees also if anyone is interested in a more "do-it-yourself" approach. Personally I prefer the do-it-yourself way of doing things even if it does cost a bit more from time to time and take a bit longer, instant gratification just isn't my...
I would LOVE a recipe for sriracha! I have a Korean friend (man can his mom cook! Best kimchi I've ever had) that introduced me to it about 25 years ago at a mexican restaurant of all places. We keep about 6-10 bottles on hand at all times. Here is a pic of the stuff we get, it also comes in a...
Thanks, you just reminded me about the 2 gallons of lamp oil I put in there last week! I found a tape measure in there too while I was fixing dinner, they're like shotguns. You can never have too many scattered about the house.
Several pounds of granulated stump remover, lots of sodium metabisulfite, molasses (not for eating, for fertilizer), spare shotgun and shells. Spectracide stump remover is 100% potassium nitrate, lots of uses for that including curing meat. Sodium metabisulfite is for killing yeast in brewing...
The crap about this subject taught in schools makes me sick. Almost as sick as the way we worship the war criminal known to me as "stinkin' lincoln" for things he never did!
We're in the process of turning our landscape edible. I have tended a small patch of wild raspberries in the back of our house at the tree line and now it has spread and nearly conceals our propane tank. We started out with only about a dozen strawberry plants in a single row along the edge of...
You realize you severely contradict yourself repeatedly in this post right? I'll show the biggest and most obvious example.
...and you later go on to say...
...followed by...
I tend to keep on hand enough of everything we use regularly to get us through a solid year+ without restocking. This means enough flour to bake bread as well as the other uses. We keep massive amounts of bisquick, powdered milk, sugar, peanut butter, rice, instant potatoes, various dry and...
Correct, the rhizome is used, even in a small yucca though, the rhizome is around 5-6 feet long/deep. It won't kill it, trust me. They are sort of like cattails, even a tiny part of the root left in the ground will make the darned thing come back in spades!
