So, going backwards again - set for a lovely Valentines Day of knee reconstruction - minor this time, only a tendon graft to replace my MPFL.
Figured there seems a lot of folks who know more than a fair bit about natural medicine...thought I'd see what ideas folks have :D
I have some of...
Oh no my friend, that there doily heart is from 2009!. :D I think I have 2010's doily heart at work - along with other fabulous pieces of toddler art!
The brick work is kinda funny...back when I moved in with hubby, I hated the kitchen. I'll have to see if I can get some pictures up. They had...
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not strictly putting quantity before quality. I've quit tomatoes completely before because everything in the nurseries here tastes like watery mush. I can't remember where I heard of these guys, but I gave it a whirl, and was thrilled with what I got. Huge yield...
I also love all the "fancy" nice stuff we have - the nice fridge - hubby got on trade for tree work. The nice glass top stove (which I DEMANDED to have, after starting weekly fires on the coil top) - $50 on Craigslist.
You can't tell, but the food processor on the fridge is held together with...
Clean!
I also got my seed order done and written out.
Only casualty of the day were eggs. Egg-cicles. The chickens are still doing fine, thank ye gods for a heated waterer, but we didn't go out over and over through the day to collect, so most of them froze :( Got 3 good eggs.
Baker's prices are almost double for some of the seed (based on what they have listed online) vs what I'm getting...
That would be interesting, see what costs where. For instance - Amish Paste tomatoes are $2.50/25 seeds at Baker, $1.85/50 at E&R. Detroit Dark Red Beets are $1.75/250 seeds at...
Yup, it's really handy, especially since I can zoom my browser and make recipes REALLY big so I can see them from the stove. I just would like to reclaim my counterspace from all the papers and junk!
I also want to reorganize that shelf thing with it's plywood glory under the microwave - I...
So, I'm hoping to clean out the kitchen today. I am definately not a FlyLady follower, as you can see.
I've at least gotten the stove and one corner clean...getting there!
Here's the disaster in all it's glory....
The clean oven and corner:
I can do it!!!
Our friend runs a flock of everything under the sun on his place - chickens, turkeys and ducks. The only "feeding" he does is scraps and whole corn.
Might not be the best thing, but they aren't dead, and they seem pretty content. Might not be the best laying things, or the meatiest, but they...
Now that I'm more coherent, I wanna post the "recipe" for that dish o' stuff in the oven. It got a "this is really good!" from hubby, so apparently it should be pretty good to most meat and potatoes folk who don't do "new". He'll choke down anything I make, but the compliments are only save for...
My clean oven :)
Any of course, to join on the fun, my eventual slothiness. I did get the oven cleaned, and then took a nap. Woke up with a headache (no fumes from the oven, just used a scrubbie, dish soap and hot water).
Heh. We had a fire up on the property, about 10 acres.
That spring, we had more morel mushrooms that you could shake a stick at. I'm talking bags and bags of them. You couldn't walk without nearly stepping on them.
In a few months, you couldn't tell there was a fire, everything was so green...
