Can you live without paper towels?

I think we could survive pretty well without paper towels - save for the fella (it is always those menfolk!). He's a mechanic and welder, and goes through a lot on his greasy hands. I use 'em for cleaning the bathroom too- but in the kitchen I just use tea towels. I go through loads :)

    Cold Cellars

Oh, great topic. I moved into a house with a root cellar last winter (it's under the concrete front porch), but I'm not sure how to store everything properly in there. I'd love to give it a try this Fall! Good luck everyone - if anyone has any more hints or tips, keep-em coming :)

    Where did we go wrong?

I think the answer depends on the age group as well. Speaking for my peer group (20-30yr olds), I think that a lot of us just don't know how. We grew up as latch-key kids, with parents both working (or living with only one parent), and society encouraging them to keep up with the Jones'. There...

    books

Hi! There are a lot of great book-swapping sites around as well, if you can't find a book through the library or you want to keep the book. There's one in the US called paperbackswap, but the one I use is international and called Bookmooch. It's great! All you have to do is pay postage on the...
